Since we’re bashing State’s spelling, I feel we should strive to uplift ourselves as well: the correct word is “uninterested,” not “disinterested.” To be disinterested is to have no stake in something, to be uninterested is to be bored. The fans in question are all Sparties at an MSU game, hence they have a stake in the outcome and are not disinterested. That they are uninterested is probably the fault of refs and scUM fans.

I apologize for the pedantry but disinterested vs. uninterested is my second-biggest pet peeve, behind only forego vs forgo.

Bracak sounds like something a bird would say.

There's an apostrophe catastrophe in the van ad, too. Why TF does that ever happen? I can understand something like her's, but dropping it in where there's no possession going on (like "Fish Fry on Friday's") makes no sense.

My theory: it's a culture-wide impulse to sound more official, more formal, more erudite.

Like the increasing American use of the British usage: "whilst."

Or clinging to the false "rule" that sentences shouldn't end with a preposition. ("About what're you talking!")

Or capitalizing Words you want to Emphasize. (You could argue that it's reviving capitalization practices of the 1700s but that's a rationalization after the fact.)

damn, you LSA nerds are funny

From my classical education,  which occurred in the pre'smart phone Era, I've allowed myself to drift.   Lazy.  Weak minded, Twitter texts.

Whilst being a stoner-engineer hath no guilt in my gradual decline in adherence to the boundary's bestowed upon me by my 4th grade English teacher, I say to you Mrs Moffet, I do wish to, with perfection, express my boy to woman love unto you.  You know what I meme.

In other news did anyone see Ben Vansurmens pro day at MSU?    I don't understand how we didn't develop him I to a great LB with those athletic traits.    He ran a 4.4 40, had a 42 and half inch vertical and some other crazy numbers.   I know this doesn't always translate to football but dam this guy is athletic.   Oh yea he benched 225lbs 29 times at 6 foot 1 239.   Maybe he is one of these guys who needed to find the right position and develop for awhile.

All those numbers would have been the best for a LB at this year's Combine.

I'm down in Florida visiting my parents, and I decided to do my taxes while I'm here. The guy I'm using says that he grew up in Michigan and was recruited to play football by MSU. He says that he was shown around campus by none other than Bubba Smith. Apparently, as they were talking someone approached Bubba with a piece of paper and told him it was his test and he needed to sign it .I guess Bubba didn't play school.
