OT: Lions pickup Cornerback Cameron Sutton from Pitt, what does that do for their draft

NFL.com has CB Cameron Sutton ranked the 15th best free agent regardless of position, and the number 3 CB Free Agent.

IMO, they should still pickup a CB with one of their first picks as i am not a huge fan of Okudah.

But this definitely makes it feasible to take best available regardless of position now with their first pick, and possible not even take one until their 2nd rounder as this is a deep CB draft.

It was their biggest need. What is everyone thoughts on paying him a bit over 10 million a year over 3 years, and how good this guy is?

Depends on the draft but it's telling they got a DB this way.  In three seasons Odukah has played 9, 1, and 15 games.  Cannot build on that uncertainty; especially for a 1st round pick.

Lions playoff window is potentially opening now.  Goff isn't getting any younger and there isn't a successor in the pipeline.

The Lions also picked up Emmanuel Mosley so I'd be surprised if they took a CB at 6. If Jalen Carter is at 6, there is some team out there who'd be willing to trade; I think that's what the Lions should do, grab themselves a bunch of picks and trade down.

Trying to figure out Lions draft strategy now.  Between Okuda and the two CB they picked up today they may still draft one (due to Moseley's injured past).   But aside from that...I feel like they can go for "best available" in the first and perhaps 2nd round

Yep, this is interesting.  I do still think they need to get a CB with their 2nd 1st round pick.  But with that number 6 pick they can definitely take best available.

But with that said, i think Witherspoon is a gamer and i hate to see him go anywhere else.  I personally think he is the best corner in the draft and i don't think its close.
