You know, this is so personal and far away from the actual conversation that I wouldn't normally digress this far, but I've literally never voted for a single republican. I'm a lifelong democrat who sometimes will side with an independent, but I have never visited the website you reference. Let's see if you'll venture back to the conversation points instead of getting oddly personal, maybe?

Did you not see the part where she was kneeling on the floor, facing away from wherever Hunt was, trying to figure out if her face was broken from being shoved into the wall?  It was then that he came out all the way across the hall and kicked her.

And you defend him.

Fuck you and your virtue signaling.  Go home to your trailer, grab your 6-pack of Bud Light, and complain to Alex Jones in your wife-beater tee shirt.

Are you a real person? Do you think that's what getting kicked by a 200+ plus athlete looks like? And I'm not saying the guy is a good guy!! I'm just saying let's pump the breaks on acting as if he's some unimaginable monster. He should be suspended, and probably go through some counseling. Why is this such an insane opinion?

Yes, that is EXACTLY what getting kicked by a 200+ lb athlete looks like - its clearly shown on camera!  She's lucky as hell that he was pulled back and didn't connect all that well.  But that doesn't matter (except for her physical well being) - he kicked her when she wasn't doing or saying anything to him, and was facing away trying to figure out what happened to her face.

It doesn't matter if you don't think he's a good person - you're defending him for beating up a woman.  As the professional athlete making millions of dollars, it's his responsibility to not put himself in that situation, and to walk away from it if it happens.  Fuck him, fuck his career, and fuck you for defending a person that demonstrably has zero common sense.

Go back to breitbart, you deserve each other...

I'm only defending him because some of you have lost touch with reality. I said he deserves to be suspended, face the legal system, and undergo counseling....buuuut a couple of you want to throw the guy to the wolves, and have him never work again. You're a modern day crazed pitch fork mob. So yes, I've been put in the terrible position of defending him for tonight...as much as one can be defending someone who you say deserves to be suspended and face the legal system. My Lord.

Given the PR problems the NFL has, and the sheer amount of good players available, yes - I do believe he should no longer be allowed to work in the NFL.  The NFL (all sports, actually) only make money when the public believes in the product.  And that means the players have to be socially responsible.  It is simply not permitted to beat on women - nor should it be.

I might have a different opinion had the Chiefs been open about this when it happened (back in Feb).  They could have allowed release of the video and gone about the discipline process, and would probably (most likely) have him available this weekend in good standing.  But they didn't.  They obstructed the whole thing, hid it thinking they had it contained.  Hunt was released for "lying" to the team about the incident (according to the team owner).  I don't believe that for one second.  So fuck them all.  The team office guys and NFL office people that were involved should also be fired for being stupid.

Wait, did they do that? They obstructed the video release? I didn't see that. I'm sure it will be investigated, and damn sure scrutinized...hopefully by people who care about the truth, because that's actually important.

I have no problem with the Chiefs releasing him, they're a private organization. And I think your'e right, they knew the mob was coming and had to make a business decision, which is their prerogative and as you said, given the climate they had to do it. My problem is with the climate. I hate, and despise the Harvey weinstein and Ray Rice types, but there is such a fervor that we've lost the ability to distinguish these events and the individuals involved as separate. I don't think this incident rises to the lever of a Weinstein, Hunt, or even Carlos Hyde level of egregiousness. I'd love to have an actual conversation about it instead of being lambasted by personal insults and expletives, but again...the climate. It's unfortunate.

Oh boohoo mgolifer. People are calling you names bc you are  a lowlife scum. It's actually quite rational to hate and berate an asshole who thinks a big guy KICKING A GIRL who is on the ground "clearly" is not an attempt to cause physical harm (in your dumbass words). Try to explain how, in the face of such stupid comments, you're not a lowlife asshole. Who else here agrees with mgodumbass that kicking a girl is "clearly not an attempt to cause physical harm"

Hey idiot, Hunt is captured on video kicking the girl while she was down. What's to understand about mgolifers dumbass opinion that "clearly" Hunt was not trying to physically harm the defenseless girl when he was kicking her. Please explain how that is not a depraved opinion. Your defense of clear violence against women is what is nauseating you lowlife asshole.

You're probably a woman-beating asshole. Who else would, after watching a video of a guy KICKING A GIRL WHILE SHE IS ON THE GROUND, say he "clearly did not intend to cause actual physical harm." You are a fucking idiot and should go kill yourself. Try to explain how the Fuck kicking somebody while they are down is so "clearly" not an attempt to cause physical harm.

Someone with power is starting their highroller fantasy football league playoffs this weekend and are going up against someone with Kareem Hunt (in a 2-week first round, I'd bet).

I'd sign him, he's an elite talent.  Let people scream about it, IDGAF... she punched him in the face and called him N***** ... a couple of shoves and knocking her off balance with his foot?  Please

I wouldn't quite say she had it coming but... Let's judge the situation dispassionately... I don't think this board has the ability to do that though

After watching the video I thought that it was a shitty look and knew he would get a public execution, but I’m sorry, the footage wasn’t brutal. I’ve seen brutal, I’ve lived with brutal. That was a bunch of drunk fucks in a hotel hallway acting like drunk fucks. He should have went into his room. She should have left. One of his “friends could have just called hotel security or the law. Yeah he shouldn’t have done any of it but there is a big difference between letting booze and/or your emotions get the best of you and being a woman beating monster. Does he need to address this now? Absolutely. Does he deserve to have his career taken away? I don’t think he does.

and before anyone gets any bright ideas I’m about as liberal as they come, was raised by a single mom, have 3 sisters, and 3 little nieces I adore. I’m not a barbarian or a woman hater, I am just not all up in arms about this one, it doesn’t compare to real acts of brutality. Maybe I’m in the wrong, I’ve been there before, but it’s ok if we disagree, you can all still be my efriends.

I don’t get gender equality, it seems only important when it is beneficial for women. There is no justification for his actions, but there are no justification for many things that are forgiven. Ultimately we must acknowledge that he is bigger and stronger and should now have walked away. If men and women are equal we should look to find a man with similar strength/stature to the women in question, I would say a 12/13 year old would do the trick. So if he assaults a 13 year old it will look pretty fucking bad, but no chance he is dropped and there isn’t nearly as much outroar.

I believe in second chances for a 23 year old still retaining a perfect criminal history.

Hunt was good no doubt. But if the Steelers can be fine without Bell, you gotta think the chiefs will be fine too. Not as good for sure, but still fine I think

After seeing the video, the IDIOT kicked a woman kneeling down. He deserves the lose a lot.

An agent today really needs to spend 50% of their time teaching young guys how NOT to screw up their futures.

Yeah, I have to say I think cutting/banning him is an overreaction.  Not because he didn't do something wrong (he did).  Not because hitting women is OK (it Isn't).  Not because he shouldn't be punished (he should).  But because I think things should be fair, and this doesn't pass the smell test.

If there was no video, would he be gone?  Of course not.  Because it was a misdemeanor at worst and the cops didn't actually charge him.

If the fight had been all guys, would he be gone?  Seems like the answer would be no, which seems odd.

I'm not saying the dude didn't f*** up and doesn't deserve a suspension.  He may be a giant a-hole.  Maybe his lie was terrible, dunno.  But all of this "he should never play again stuff" seems overblown to me.

As someone else said, **** like this unfortunately happens more than we would like to know.  There just isn't video of it

TotalEquality

December 2nd, 2018 at 9:09 AM ^

Watch the video and replace the woman with a 120 lb drunken man. Do you still care as much? Why or why not?

There is an assault here. He does hit and kick her. But under an umbrella of total equality, why does it seem to matter MORE that she is a woman?

What if Hunt in this video was Amanda Nunes against some slightly built guy? Does gender, size, and strength matter in that case? Why or why not?

It seems that instead of logic, reason, and law, everything is decided now by whoever shrieks the loudest.
