OT: Imagine Being A Browns Fan....

LOLZ, what a pathetic team. Their fan base bought it hook, line and sinker. ? u remain. Will their coach be canned tomorrow or after the season?

We had no reason not to, our QB set the rookie record for TD passes, then we added one of the best receivers in the game, and one of the best RBs in the game.

Our mistake was thinking Freddie would fit in seamlessly, when in reality he's the worst head coach I have ever seen.  Every single week this team is unprepared, and yesterday they quit.

3 decisions from Dorsey destroyed this season:  Drafting Corbett, hiring Kitchens, the Zeitler/Vernon trade.

The OBJ trade has been a disaster, but it's still a decision that was worth the risk.

This is just an untrue narrative. Most Browns fans were nothing more than cautiously optimistic. We thought we had a talented team that had a real shot at making the playoffs this year if the talent came together. This perception that Browns fans were so confident and were talking Super Bowl, etc, is silly. Of course there were some, as there probably are every year. But most browns fans are pessimistic at their core, and realized it was very, very possible the season would go just as it has. Browns fans actually remind me a lot of Michigan fans here. Hopeful yet pessimistic, full of excuses after losses, and always wanting the coaches fired

I'm partly a browns fan (from Canton, OH) but I'm more of the "oh they suck I'll just casual watch three games a year and hope they win because good for NE Ohio" kind. Browns fans are delusional. They always have been.

My in-laws are from Buffalo and my best friend played for the bills so I've really gotten into rooting for them. Even when they suck it's a really fun and cool fan base. Fortunately, this year they are pretty damn good.

Yeah you are right there. I give Bills and Browns fans credit there. They are both, no matter what, do or die for their teams. The friend I was referring to is Dustin Fox since you are a buckeye fan you may recognize his name. He was the best man in my wedding (well I actually had two best men, he was one of two). He loved playing for the bills they sucked when he was there but he was always shocked they way those fans packed that massive stadium and rooted like hell for them.

Very cool yeah we played at glenoak together in canton and have been friends since we were kids. I used to go with him to a ton of psu games when his brother played there. We got to see some kick ass teams that was back in the lavar arrington, etc. days

anyway when he ended up with the bills it was pretty cool as that is where my in laws live and my wife is from

Buffalo, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland and Detroit have 1 SB win and 8 SB appearances total between them.  If you're not a free agent destination, you need a HoF coach and a solid front office. GB and Pittsburgh have bucked the trend because of HoF coaches and a top front office/scouting department.

Take the Lions seriously when they completely overhaul their scouting department.  Until then, it'll be SOL.

Being a destination city has nothing to do with it

Miami, Dallas, Atlanta, New York Jets, San Diego/LA Chargers would all be considered desired destination cities for many players and none of those teams has won a SB in the last 22 years.

It’s about ownership and management. Period.

Imagine growing up a Lions fan going to games at Tiger stadium with your dad starting in 1968.  Imagine growing up in Pontiac in the shadow of the Silverdome and going to games from about 1975 through 1985 before moving to Cleveland.  Then imagine marrying a women who's a lifetime Browns season ticket holder and becoming a Browns fan about in 2008 and going to games with her ever since.

When it comes to supporting shitty, heartbreaking football teams i defy ANYONE to match my resume.

The Cleveland Browns are essentially an expansion team. Their inheritance of the Browns' branding, history, and records was a legal fiction created as part of the compromise that allowed the old Browns to move to Baltimore. But the franchise itself is relatively new.

The Lions, on the other hand, are one of the NFL's oldest franchises. And yet, they have exactly one playoff win in their history, and are the only NFL team that isn't a recent expansion team to have never played in a Super Bowl. They're also the only team to have had an 0-16 season.

You tell me which team is more pathetic.

I would suggest that even recent expansion teams in the NFL have done better than the Lions... and it's not like the NFL stacks the deck for expansion teams like the NHL did for Vegas.

2002 Houston Texans, 3-5 playoff record.

1995 Carolina Panthers, 9-8, 2 Superbowl appearances.

1995 Jacksonville Jaguars, 7-7.

The Lions have the 2nd current longest sports drought of having appeared in a final game or series (Super Bowl or NFL Championship appearance drought)... 61 years. The longest is the Sacramento Kings with 69 years. The Lions have the longest for droughts taking place in one city only.
