Pretty cool. I'd like to try it out.

The longer you play with it, the harder it gets.

Wow. That's brilliant. How did you determine that?

Looks like you can't peel off the labels to "solve" it. :(
Also, it's too bad they missed a perfect opportunity to replace the green & red with better colors.

....is that because of staee being on red-lock?

They get red locked too easily.

Incredible work by the group of students who designed and built it over the past 2 years or so. The posted links don't really showcase the complexity of the inner workings of the cube - but it's impressive what the team was able to come up with to make this thing fully functional. Some of the videos from the College of Engineering about the design process posted below.

Very cool links! Those are indeed better than the ones I found.
it (Yes it exists). My son can't wait to see this in the fall.
I bought my son this one
Any idea how much this one goes for?
At the very end of the second video, you can see that Michigan ME pretty much obviously boosted a rainbow parachute from the local Gymboree.
Scandalous!

I want to see a 4x4 and a 5x5 Rubik's Cube installed around the campus.
Those would be fun. Time-consuming but fun.

What a great piece of engineering. Those students should be proud.

after he kicked Chuck Norris' ass?

needs a little grease, but all in all pretty cool. Its been unosolved all day.
also worth noting a racoon was just halfway through a window in the GGB lab right next door to the cube I had to shoo it out or it would have been on the loose!
It would be funny if it was on the loose though.
Why put it on the second floor of a building? They should have it outdoors, like a North Campus version of Endover.
April 14th, 2017 at 11:47 AM ^
Weather would probably ruin it but it would've been cool if they put it just inside the entrance of the building.
April 14th, 2017 at 12:08 PM ^
Yeah, it would have been more accessible to visitors that way. Oh well.
