OT - Explain Your Avatar and User Name
Mates,
Over the years snippets come out on various mgobloggers about their avatars - like MGrowOld, for instance, has a picture of his wife, and LSA2000 explained the 'naughty dentist' line in his avatar. And while of course some of them are pretty straight forward, nevertheless, for many, the who/what/why of your avatar and user name are unknown.
I searched the archives and found nothing on point, so the question/issue is this: Explain your avatar/picture and username - why that picture, those numbers or lettters or whatever else that designates your mgoblog presence.
CAVEAT: if 'Everybody Murders' is thinking about explaining, you might want to read some things on self-incrimination, the fifth amendment, and the fact that most jurisdictions have no statute of limitations on murder. Just in case, you know, yours is true.

Rick Leach has long been my all-time favorite (though I no longer consider him the best ever) Michigan QB, so naturally I used a sideline shot of Leach and Bo as my avatar.
And though you proclaim that you're really not all that interesting, I do enjoy your take on all things Michigan and even more than that enjoy your viewpoints on living and raising a family in a sort of old-fashioned way.
If I didn't know any better, i'd kinda picture you as the head of the family of "settlers" on that series of new DirecTV commercials. :-)

Brady Hoke Artichoke. I guess I just like artichokes and was looking for a rhyme. I created my avatar through one of those face morph websites (it's Brady Hoke and, you guessed it, an artichoke).
After Hoke got axed I didn't want to change my avatar, so my switch to Artichokes Anonymous seemed appropriate.

User name goes way back to AOL and I got it from old episode of David Letterman. They used to give away cans of Big Ass Ham to people randomly. Over the years I forgot too many passwords and added mms to the end to get to the current iteration.
Mine is a nickname combined with my favorite number, and number of my hero growing up (Kirk Gibson). Avatar is a picture of my son who played JV soccer as a freshman. Kinda proud of it.
The day of the vote he was home in Grand Rapids on break and a fellow board member called him and demanded he get to AA at once to cast his vote. He drove fast and barely made it but his vote was in time and Crisler became the next coach.

Click "my account" on the top left of the page and there's some type of edit button. I think it's on top but have a tough time remembering what looks the same and what changed.

so bitter and so pointless in the anger. seriously, you can be better than you are. that has got to be a huge burden to be hauling all that angst around. get a therapist, a hobby, a pastor, whatever man, but try to break that cycle.

bitter (cold), too, if i sat in Section 6. I sat in Section 7 the first year we had season tickets and we froze over there! That corner gets the worst of the wind when it's blowing out of the northwest or north, and when those winds come howling through the Big House in November, it's BITTER cold.

My user-name was a nickname I picked up when I started doing carpenter work right out of high school. My first day on the job I wore a pair of tennis shoes to work and one of the wiley veterans on the crew grabbed me and told me I wasn't going to make it if I didn't buy some boots and quit wearing those soft shoes to work.

I live in the Bronx. I went to UM.
The lack of a picture is so that people don't immediately associate asshole things I saw sometimes with an image.
Somewhat related and making a connection is that of our old dominating RB from Louisiana, Anthony Thomas..aka... the A-train. He was one of those guys that I took for granted. Great power. Good speed. Held onto the ball well. Blocked well.
Anyway...I'm not usually so chatty but after a few Founders All Day IPA's and a little sunshine today...I couldn't shut my damn mouth.
And by the way...who else is PUMPED for the 2016 college football season. The Harbaugh train is ROLLIN' and I get the feeling there ain't no one can stop it...

My freshman yeart roommate at Michigan started calling me Kurtis Blow because my name is Kurt and he once walked in on me getting a blowjob. That got shortened to KBlow. I selected the avatar because I live in the Pacific Northwest and I like Tlingit art.
Ah, the old Roomatus Interuptus.
The avatar is Rainbow Dash dressed as a Shadowbolt for Halloween - yes, it's from My Little Pony. I gave myself a pony avatar so no one else would have to suffer through the experience, but in my particular case I don't happen to mind that.
The username is fairly self-explanatory - I graduated from the College Of LS&A in the year 2000, and I took the name on so that others who graduated from the same school in the same year could feel a sense of pride. Well, that's what I tell myself - it may not be true.
is the 3 Stooges character with Curly the heavyweight champ. Larry plays Pop Goes the Weasel on the violin and he knocks 'em out. I am a big Stooges fan. Watch them if you haz a sad and it won't last.
Avatar is a pic of "General Specific", a character from Sheep in the Big City, a weird obscure cartoon I caught during my daughter's childhood. Seemed fitting.
