They refuse to accept that the 1966 World Cup was a huge fluke (aided by a generous dose of home cooking) and that otherwise they've been mediocre throughout history - maybe on par with Mexico.
They are extremely condescending about US "soccer", but in the last 25 years they have not done any better in the World Cup than the USA has.
They are no Germany or Italy.
laughing a lot after the second game. needs to be pointed out that the England performance is preciesely why some here got annoyed at the "this is a disgrace" or "embarassing" comments after the Copa Semi vs Argentina. Can always count on the English to provide a proper example of an awful performance.
Going to regret this, but I predicted Spain 2 - 0 Italy, and then England 3 - 1 Iceland.

The Azzurri made me proud. I don't think they're going to win this title because they'd have to win at least two mroe matches against elite opponents (Germany, and probably France). Can't see it happening.
But if it did, it'd be an incredible achievement. Trying to think of a tougher road to a title in a big tournament like this.
With the expanded Copa and Euros being played at the same time, it's like a World Cup year split in two halves.
The Copa winner should play the Euros winner.
