Submitted by Maizinator on

Denard Robinson is now up to 552 yards on 125 carries for the season, 4.4 yard average.   Great to see him having some success and hope he continues to improve and build on what he is doing this season.

As far as running backs picked ahead of him in 2013...

Round 2

Giovani Bernard - 540 yards, 4.0 avg
Le'Veon Bell - 1,046 yards, 4.8 avg
Montee Ball - 172 yards, 3.1 avg
Eddie Lacy - 770 yards, 4.4 avg
Christine Micheal - 112 yards, 6.2 avg

Round 3
Knile Davis - 423, 3.7 avg

Round 4
Johnathan Franklin
Marcus Lattimore

Jacksonville got a steal in the 5th round.  Way to go Denard!  Keep smiling and thank you for 2011 so we at least can hold on to those recent memories.

I picked him up for my fantasy team the week he was announced as a starter as a "what the hell, why not" decision, and it has been my best pick up all year. Regardless of my fantasy team, I couldn't be happier for the guy. Cheers to Denard and his bright future!

So happy for Denard.

He has really made a beautiful switch to RB.  I often hoped the coaching staff might try Denard at RB, especially when the new regime came in talking about running a "pro-style" offense and all.

The new regime--now the old regime--never tried Denard at RB aside from one game against OSU, when Denard's ulnar nerve injury prevented his playing QB.  Every time Denard stepped on the field, he ran the ball.  It was not the sort of introduction to RB I had hoped for for Denard.

Despite a difficult introduction to the position, Denard is kicking a$$ and taking names--in the NFL!  Not surprised, but very happy for him.

All hail Denard!

Stop blaming Devin Gardner for all of this.  Devin Gardner could just as easily have taken advantage of the grad transfer rule and transferred to AZ this year.  He could have played for the coach who originally recruited him in a system that is perfect for his skill set.

Devin Gardner was a spread QB who was forced to play an offense that wasn't right for him the last four years.  Incidentally, that is EXACTLY what Rich Rod's most vehement and neanderthal critics used to accuse him of.

Devin Gardner played with injuries that would make most posters here curl into a ball and tell the world to fuck off for a few months.  I am tired of people bitching about him.

I have maintained all along that Devin Gardner's problems this year were muskoskeletal, not mental.  This was evident on Saturday as he was the healthiest he has been all year since the Notre Dame game.  How many receivers did he find against OSU?  Upper body injury had affected his throwing; foot/ankle affected his ability to cut and run.  As you said, difficult to imagine the determination and stamina.  Thanks for speaking up for him; I found the whole "broken" meme to be disrespectful.

His leadership skills alone qualify him for the Senior Class award.  Link below, vote every day through Dec. 15th:

One thing that should be noted is that those 552 yards comprise about 47% of the Jaguars' entire rushing production for the year, so not only is Denard contributing, but it is in an extremely significant way. He also owns their longest run and the most rushing TDs on the season in Jacksonville. It really is great to see his NFL career trend like this.

If you are a nfl coach should have been able to see potential in Denard. He might have not been a QB put you can definetly see that he could get you yards on the ground.

It'll be interesting to see what JJ Watt and the rest of my Texans do against him next week.

As for other Michigan players in the NFL (that another posted asked about) Jamison has 2 tackles and a sack for us yesterday against the Titans. Go Blue!

I love that Denard is having success in the NFL! Great attitude and good representation of UofM. OT - For conversation sake, I wonder if, UofM would've started out using Denard as a running back and kept Tate Forcier or DG to continue to develop their QB skills, how that would've worked out? Yeah, I know Denard was electric, but he also made our offense one dimensional. With Tate's and Devin's passing and running ability, I wonder if we could've have better off? I know Tate was a time bomb waiting to explode, but I think he might have been able to keep his craziness in check if he kept playing.
