Annesse is accumulating some talent.
January 17th, 2011 at 9:19 PM ^
Yeah he is, he was my high school coach. Definitely one of the best out there.
January 18th, 2011 at 12:07 AM ^
Kind of reminds me of Saban - from a looks and coaching ability standpoint.
January 17th, 2011 at 11:45 PM ^
One of my former players played for coach Annesse at GRCC the last two years. He said that the man's greatest talent was being able to "collect a group of low-lifes and scum bags and getting them to buy in and play like a team".
Because of this I am declaring that coach Annesse will be the head coach of tOSU in 5 years. Book It.
January 17th, 2011 at 7:54 PM ^
He is definitely going to go there for a year, get an acceptable gpa and then transferring to Michigan under the new coaching staff.
January 17th, 2011 at 7:54 PM ^
BKFinest it.
January 17th, 2011 at 8:11 PM ^
So you saying there's a chance!
January 17th, 2011 at 11:44 PM ^
This made me laugh so hard that I went back and negged bkfinest and +1'd DGDestroys
Edit: and I +1'd you too for the laugh
January 18th, 2011 at 12:16 AM ^
i swear to god i will pull this out every time somebody says to book "it".
January 17th, 2011 at 7:55 PM ^
i thought DD was at LVILLE
January 17th, 2011 at 8:06 PM ^
You sir, are a little behind
January 17th, 2011 at 8:08 PM ^
lol i guess so what happened at LVILLE
January 17th, 2011 at 8:10 PM ^
I don't believe he ever got in
January 17th, 2011 at 8:03 PM ^
Best of luck to him. I felt sorry for the guy.
January 17th, 2011 at 8:15 PM ^
I'm hoping this is sarcasm. The kid had full ride offers to Florida, Florida State, USC, and MEEECHIIIGANNN and you feel sorry for him?
The things I would do to have my degree paid in full, you don't even understand.
January 17th, 2011 at 8:29 PM ^
You do realize he got bullied and cheated out of that free education...right?
January 17th, 2011 at 8:37 PM ^
That's rich. Sure I feel sorry for him that things didn't work out, but those abysmal scores were no ones fault but his own.
January 17th, 2011 at 8:59 PM ^
Oh yeah and it had nothing to do with his up bringing. This is more his parents fault than his, how can you blame him 100% for all of this?
January 17th, 2011 at 9:05 PM ^
He knew what it would take to get in to college. He probably just lacked the work ethic. You can't tell me that no one from a similar situation never got into college.
January 17th, 2011 at 9:10 PM ^
Well his parents turned out the way they did because of the system right? It's not their fault they were born into those circumstances. No one should be held accountable for the way their life turns out.
Part of this is Dorsey's fault.
Part of this is his parents' fault.
Part of this is Michigan's fault.
Part of this is the system and our society's fault.
Other kids have succeeded from Demar's circumstances, so I would have to believe that he could have succeeded also. Ultimately a person probably should not have to place blame on others for how his life has turned out.
January 17th, 2011 at 9:18 PM ^
The kid pulled his shit together just a bit too late. Now he is taking the prep route to get back what he could have had. There is no shame in coming up short, the shame is in giving up which it appears he has not. His signing, more than anything, sums up the RR tenure. Both the coach and this player had 3 strikes against them before ever setting foot on this campus. At least one of them was a grown man.
January 17th, 2011 at 9:58 PM ^
Exactly, and his apparent will to persevere is why most of us are still rooting for him, but what I was saying was that he isn't by any means blameless in not getting in the first time.
January 17th, 2011 at 9:22 PM ^
Sure I agree that his parents may have been ill equipped to help Demar to succeed, but there are many ways to overcome this. And it's not Michigan's fault he couldn't get in there. They have their standards and he didn't meet them. It is, however, their fault that they let him believe he would be in no matter what.
January 17th, 2011 at 10:01 PM ^
I think that it's much harder to succeed and achieve academically from his set of circumstances than you realize.
January 17th, 2011 at 9:17 PM ^
I totally agree, I mean look where he grew up. Its not like he was in a situation where he could really thrive in the classroom. He didn't have the same childhood as a lot of our other recruits I guarantee it
January 17th, 2011 at 10:08 PM ^
come on, we've all seen those feel good movies about a black inner-city youth who realizes all he has to do is work hard to escape the fate bestowed upon him and get out of the projects and into a good university.
although they usually get shot right before they are about to leave
January 17th, 2011 at 10:12 PM ^
Really do you think EVERYBODY at his school had a 1 point something GPA and a 12 on their ACT, or worse?
January 17th, 2011 at 10:23 PM ^
actually smart guy he didnt go to a regular high school... Not everyones smart some people are born slow and he deserves the oppurtunity.
January 17th, 2011 at 8:31 PM ^
I don't think you even understand.
January 17th, 2011 at 8:33 PM ^
This is the wrong board to be talking about the things you would do for money...
January 17th, 2011 at 8:11 PM ^
Scout boards were buzzing about this a little earlier. As of now, it does not appear to be any attempt to get into UM
January 17th, 2011 at 8:15 PM ^
Why would he? We may have forgotten about how the local media vilified this kid when he comitted but I am willing to bet DD has not.
January 17th, 2011 at 8:22 PM ^
Exactly. It was a question that was on at least a few peoples' minds, however, so I just wanted to get that settled
January 17th, 2011 at 8:33 PM ^
Maybe... he is set on silencing the critics?
January 17th, 2011 at 9:25 PM ^
But your saying there's a chance?
January 17th, 2011 at 8:30 PM ^
if all this is true then i would have to believe he is coming to michigan in 2012 why else would a kid from florida go to a juco in gr michigan... alot of people did bash him but his cousin is still at michigan and loves it
January 17th, 2011 at 9:08 PM ^
That still doesn't mean he's going to be able to enroll in Michigan with JUCO credits. There's no way Demar ever plays for Michigan.
Although this would be a very interesting case study of the Detroit media. If a so called "Michigan Man" decided to give him a chance, would the Freep et. al. continue to vilify him?!?
January 17th, 2011 at 9:16 PM ^
credits are accepted by U of M admissions.
January 18th, 2011 at 12:12 AM ^
They might accept a class that a currently enrolled UofM student takes over the summer there, but will they admit someone based entirely on grades gained in one year from there? I doubt it.
January 18th, 2011 at 9:58 AM ^
GRCC has a route that you can take that is specifically designed to get you into UofM. I had a friend who took this route, where he spent 2 years at GRCC and then transferred into Engineering. It is actually used quite a bit for kids that didn't get the best ACT score or didn't have the money to go to UofM for 4 years.
January 17th, 2011 at 9:23 PM ^
but now that they got their derp derp "michigan man" in there maybe if Hoke pushes for him Dorsey gets in?
January 17th, 2011 at 10:30 PM ^
Does anyone care about what the Detroit media has to say?
January 17th, 2011 at 9:27 PM ^
that would pretty much blow my mind
January 17th, 2011 at 9:54 PM ^
Damn, I can walk to GRCC games. Sounds like its time to do that, draped in Michigan gear.
January 17th, 2011 at 10:52 PM ^
January 18th, 2011 at 8:12 AM ^
people will still be wondering if Dorsey is on his way to UM.
