Got the link from the EDSBS twitter.  Deadspin is putting a lot on the line with an article like this so I hope they've done their homework.   It does raise a few flags when a picture of "her" is someone else entirely.  Take it FWIW.

Thread is going back up with profit's approval after a quick discussion between us, especially with CBS Radio picking it up. There will probably be a few of the subsequent threads deleted; I'll explain each that I take down in the Moderator Action Stickey.

As a quick reminder, please keep comments to the standards we've come to expect from the MGoBoard. JGB

Edit two: I didn't take down the other threads, so the promised explanations didn't happen in the sticky. If you think a thread was taken down in error, I apologize, but it's now disappeared into the internet. From what I saw, most had served their purpose when this thread was unlocked. JGB.

Interesting article from October..

"They started out as just friends," Brian Te'o said. "Every once in a while, she would travel to Hawaii, and that happened to be the time Manti was home, so he would meet with her there. But within the last year, they became a couple.

Lennay Kekua was a Stanford student and Cardinal football fan when the two exchanged glances, handshakes and phone numbers that fateful weekend three seasons ago.

Notre Dame has a super duper secret report, put together by their super duper secret investigative firm, which easily proves Manti was the victim in all of this, but they're not going to make any of it public?

I'm going to wait to reserve judgement on this until all of the "facts" have been straightened out.  May take awhile....I have a feeling this is a deep rabbit hole.

So to quickly look back: Declan Sullivan actually dies and ND, Kelly and to a certain extent ESPN show no remorse and aren't forth coming with truth or details. Manti T'eo's fake girlfriend dies and it is exploited and used as propaganda up to and passed the NC game. To hell with Notre Dame.

It boggles my mind that ND and others may actually believe this guy was a victim. Aside from the "visits", how can anyone possibly believe that this guy would never actually have met or see his "girlfriend" after supposed bouts with leukemia, a car accident and then her death.

So now, apparently an Arizona Cardinals player from Samoa is confirming that Manti Te'o's girlfriend is real, and he met her in the past.

What the fuck is happening?

Nothing is real anymore.

Edit: He "believes" he met her.

They say that the cover-up is always worse than the crime. Expect to see lots of people coming forward to claim that they're the REAL "significant other" of Manti Te'o, just to protect him from any further embarrassment.

To think that it all started with this:

"Te'o, Te'o. Daylight come and me wanna go home."

international flight and this scam is ridiculous. Manti and family perpetrated the hoax on the media even is they didn't start the online stuff. Too many quotes of meeting her and even the post 12/26 quotes. Didn't every media person learn to NOT take Manti at his version of a story - cannot let this die until truth is admitted by Manti and acknowledged by ND.
