OT: Brian Kelly is a jerk to everybody, not just his players

Hidden in a ESPN puff-piece about the new Packers coach is yet another great story of Brian Kelly being a sonofabitch.

Turns out, they weren’t on the guest list.

They were on the worker list.

"We shoveled the snow and parked all the cars," Saleh said. "Then, at the end of the night, we had to go get the cars again."

And then they went back to the tiny apartment they shared as graduate assistants and stood around their kitchen table -- the one without any chairs.

"We decided that when we’re in that position, we’re never going to treat people the way we got treated," said Saleh, now the San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator. "And Matty’s lived up to it.""

A buddy of mine worked as a dealer at the casino while he was in college.

He said Brian Kelly was the biggest jerk of all the "celeb's" he met while working there for 3 years.

The fact that he is such an asshole has to be the reason he can’t get an NFL job, which he wants badly. It says a lot when the NFL is worried about your bad character

What's the big deal?....it's not like it was the official CMU Fightin' Chippewas Christmas Party and they had to stand in front of the house in  stove-top hats with a corn cob pipes in their mouths with their arms out-stretched with a long wool scarves hanging down and a carrots duct-taped to their wide fat red noses and tomato juice splashed all over their faces pretending to be his look-a-like....

Brian Kelly, a jerk? Really? He always looks so poised and gracious. I agree with the poster who observed that most hard-driving coaches have an interpersonal edge to them, but this guy is just a douche to anyone and everyone, even if he's not in a tense (i.e., game) situation. Pat Summit was probably my favorite coach of all time, any sport, in large part b/c she never lost her humility and fundamental kindness. She was once invited to a large dinner in her honor, and immediately afterward she was in the kitchen doing dishes. A thousand stories like that.

Pardon this unpardonable opinion, but...the wrong people die.

Apparently, Robert Saleh is the one who told ESPN that story. He must have been waiting years for just the right spot to unload on Kelly. Can you imagine how much he must despise him?

I was on the track team at GVSU when Kelly was the football coach there.  We were doing 400m repeats on the outdoor track while kickers & punters were practicing.  One kick was errant and pegged a runner (pretty funny watching it happen).  Our track coach ran across the field and got in BK's face about it - BK replied with "Your sport generates $0 for this school, we have a stadium that we ALLOW you to use.  I don't give a f*ck about some kid getting hit  by a football."

I'll never forget him, years ago when he was the DC at GVSU I was from a local high school.   They brought me in for a recruiting trip and he told me flat out that they only brought me in because it looks good to recruit local kids but that they wouldn't offer me.  They liked Chicago area kids more. Ever since then I've hated GVSU and any place Kelly has coached. Makes it even easier with him at ND.

Had a friend who was on staff under Kelly when he coached at GVSU.  Kelly wanted him to come with him to CMU when he got that job, but he said no.  Told me that Kelly was not enjoyable to work for.  He had more nice things to say about Chuck Martin who ended up being the coach at GVSU after Kelly left.

My niece graduated from Notre Dame 4 years ago and she knew one of the equipment managers for ND.    Based on the stories she heard from her friend, Brian Kelly is a terrible person.  

One example:  He wanted "regular Gatorade".   When she asked what he meant by "regular Gatorade", he screamed, "REGULAR GATORADE!"   Sufficiently cowed, she asked a couple of players what "regular Gatorade" was to Kelly and it turns out it was the green stuff.  

The guy just treats everybody like garbage.
