Read the title and said to myself, "Oh yea, I'm here for this." Not a waste of my time at all. Thanks for the laughs. I'm a simple asshole.

I'm a simple asshole.
Don't sell yourself short. You're so much more than a 'simple' asshole

All jokes aside, breakdancing is actually a global sport, seems reasonable to try.
Another cool Korean breakdancing video (set at the DMZ):

Really just another form of gymnastics - just less defined and formalized.

So any activity where people are moving around is a sport? Maybe cross fit, Zumba, and lawn mowing will be the next Olympic Sports?

Any 'sport' where you go off and do something solo and then are awarded an arbitrary score by a judge is a farce.

It affords the French an opportunity to demonstrate their superior culture by maliciously down-grading the American participants.

Am I the only one who thinks the Olympic Committee believes it is 1984?

You mean 1934?

The IOC wanted to attract a younger and more urban audience, so they went for an old person's idea of what a younger, more urban audience wants. Seriously? Breakdancing first became a "thing" when I was a student; I'm retired now.
One of the sports that lost spots was boxing. I got some news for the IOC. ANOTHER THREE sports centered on a judging panel's idea of artistic merit (they also added skateboarding and surfing) will not be more popular than a combat sport. See also MMA.

That's a shame that boxing lost out... it was literally one of the contests that was part of the ancient Greek games as well as being part of almost every modern games.

Terrific! I'm sure klutzing is a lock to be added any day now.
