OT: Arizona OL Zach Hemmila dies
Sad. RIP
Edited...my eyes failed me this afternoon. Thank you for catching that.
Sad sad news. I'm sure this will have a huge impact on their team.
I had a friend die in his sleep a couple years ago at 33, undiagnosed heart condition. So tragic and sad for someone so young to be here one day and gone the next with no warning.
That's no good. Prayers to his family and team.
I wonder if it was sleep apnea or a heart condition? Tragic. RIP Zach.
RIP young man.
My heart goes out to any parents that have to bury a child, no matter what age, but especially one in the prime of his life. Very sad.
Sincere condolences to his family, friends, and teammates. RIP.
I in no way want to triviliaze this young man's death, but you have to wonder if the combination of summer in Arizona and RichRod's famously brutal workouts had anything to do with this. I recall a lot of unhappy kids leaving the program under the weight of his workouts when he first came to Ann Arbor...
Then does it anyway. GTFO!

incredible dcanoe
Being unhappy with the workouts and being dead are kind of different. Since no one ever died from a RR workout it's not fair to try and put blame on him.
Working out extremely hard does not cause one to just pass away in their sleep.
If the kid had died of heat-stroke in the middle of practice, or even just after practice, then you might have something to talk about. But I've never read anything that ties working out super hard during the day to sudden death during sleep in a heathy individual. If that were true, elite athletes the world over would be terrified of their workouts.
