The notion that Iowa has no talent is ridiculous, and I hate Iowa. Wieskamp was a stud recruit. Bohannon can shoot from anywhere. Garza is probably the best scoring big man in the big ten. Cook and Baer have been there. For. Fucking. Ever.

They're a good team, everyone just shits on them cause they have a lot of white guys and don't play defense. You don't need defense to win every game if you shoot that much better than your opponent

Don't care much about the loss, doesn't matter. For those complaining about shot selection, I don't agree. We had a ton of open looks. This team just needs to get to the gym and work on their jump shots. We'll be fine.

When you have John teske and nobody that can back him up you are in trouble.  Do not know why Beilein doesn’t try to recruit better big man.

Refs were annoying, but they weren't the ones airballing and missing bunnies. The concerns about inconsistent offense, especially on the road, were on full display today.

Iowa is a bad defensive team. 59 points against them is not good.

We'll regroup though. Iowa was hungry and mad about last week, and they're a good team with a good home court advantage. It's more than okay to drop an L there

Perfect storm tonight. They had more energy playing at home. Early bad calls by refs cost us starters for long stretch and it ignited them. Poor outside shooting. Inability to finish driving to basket, partly because we always seem to miss bunnies and also we got hacked a fair amount tonight with no calls. We also couldnt play aggressive defense because of the touch fouls. Lastly, poor rebounding and that goes back to a lack of Teske and they had the home energy tonight. Beilein will use it as a teaching moment. Team needs to get their hunting mentality back.

Yeah, this was an especially bad opponent for a quick whistle, because our big advantage over Iowa is our D.

Michigan was simply not allowed to play aggressive defense in this game, which let a hot team have a strong offensive game.

Have to hope when we face a game like this in the tournament (as we surely will) it's on a night where we're shooting better and/or they're shooting poorly.

Worst game of the season for sure. I’d love to see us break the press quicker - it seems to get our offense quite out of sorts. Love how hard this team plays but my goodness did they get frantic at the end. Holy crap we are lucky though to have such a fun team to watch. Go blue, always!

You all are way overreacting. This was just a typical Big Ten road game. Iowa has a decent team. They were calling touch fouls against Teske practically 5 seconds into the game, whereas Iggy was getting sucker punched multiple times on his way to the rim and they called nothing. Michigan had to basically concede the paint on defense for the entire first half since everything was being called. When the couldn't get consistent shooting from beyond the arc on offense, that was just about the ball game.

Lest we forget, Michigan did pull within 5 with about 10 minutes left, but Iowa made yet another lucky, timely 3 from a 6'9 guy who's probably shooting 25% for the year. It happens.

Honestly the team is the same as they were last year except we traded Wagner for Teske and Duncan Robinson for Iggy. That's a slight net positive I'd say. They have just as good a chance at making a run in the tournament as they did last year. They just maybe aren't the world beaters they looked like in December, which isn't surprising.

We're 20-2.

2 road losses against tournament teams in a very tough B1G.

This game was a perfect storm for us:

- good opponent on the road

- super quick whistle and early foul trouble

- poor shooting night

- opponent playing their best game

We'll get our revenge on these guys. Looked for awhile like we were gonna come back, but it wasn't our night.

Shake it off, learn some lessons, and get ready for the next game.

Need to win at least one or two impressive road games, not including Nova. Was impressed by the Indiana win until it became clear they didn't even show up to their own home game.

Need to win two of at MSU, at Maryland, and at Minnesota. Disappointing that they couldn't split Iowa and Wisconsin let alone keep either game within single digits. Thought we made progress last year winning at Iowa, Wisconsin, Maryland, and MSU. But we're right back to where we always have been on the road: just can't win consistently enough

I’ve been disappointed in this team since early December. There shooting has been terrible most of the year. It won’t get any better as the season goes on. I see more losses coming. The Rutgers game next week is scaring me.

It feels like we've never just had a full game of consistently shooting at our average. Some games were go like 12/12 to start the game, we go up 30-10, then we have a long stretch of horrible shooting. We end up at our average at the end of the game, but the game flow was not average.

This team's defense, as I said in the first game of the season, will be our saving grace.

That's the way college basketball works, especially with a team that isn't a great shooting team. Highly unlikely to shoot at the same level over an entire game - you only see that in the NBA.

Hot streaks, cold streaks. That's hoops.

I agree our D is what makes this team special. Shame they weren't allowed to play any tonight.

It's especially glaring with this team. I understand that it happens, and CBB is a much worse basketball product than the NBA, but this team gets cold like none other.

The defense, however, is much superior to other Johnny B teams, so we win most of those cold nights. If these guys played defense like those 11-14 teams, they would probably have 5 losses already

Meh. Not uncommon for Beilein teams to struggle at this point, the shooting was awful at 32% or whatever, Iowa was unconscious, this team lacks a legitimate backup 5 and the officiating was crapola. Hope UM gets them in the B1G tourney - they will smoke them on a neutral court.

Hard to believe the NCAA allows such inconsistent officiating from one crew/night to another.  I understand that it's challenging at times to get calls right, but at least be consistent.
