Defense absolutely kicked ass for 90% of the game and put is in a position to win. Speight's INTs, penalties, and the refs turned a comfortable win into....this

We asked too much of them. Shouldn't have put them in those situations at the end. It's sickening that this group doesn't get the win it deserves. Thank you seniors and other contributors.

which seems to be neverending.  I love this defense and no way are we even at this point without them but it would be nice to be able to stop a running quarterback JUST ONCE IN MY LIFETIME!!!!

The defense was excellent until the very end. Sadly, we needed them at the end. Goodbye everyone but McCray, who ducked inside one last time on that first Ot drive

The defense was amazing. Made a couple mistakes which was expected, but they played as close to perfect as could be reasonably expected. This loss isn't on them.

if truth be told and an accurate spot was made, they might have won the game by an inch or two.  They stopped a very talented OSU countless times today.

The defense played well. Glad Peppers finally got an interception. Bad job against Barrett runs however. Also, and this is an entire season thing really, why doesn't Michigan force many turnovers?

D was good enough to win, just had to go on the field too many times and wore out. The offense flamed out down the stretch and could not keep the chains and clock moving.

They tired in key games with the shitty running game being unable to sustain drives. A great OK is the best friend of a D - we didn't have that combination.

We finally had an experienced DL (probably first since the Sugar Bowl team) with some depth.

Not sure about Brown - I think his RPS was just OK and he was very wrong when he was wrong.  He had a very talented DL and secondary so we shall see if he can deliver with less seniority.

Don Brown appreciation thread where are you.  The D proved we can control the Meyer offense which bodes well for the future.  With upgrades incoming at QB, WR, RB and OL, and if we can just sustain a defense relatively near this one (I know, not easy) I see many  good outcomes in the Game upcoming.

Defense showed up in spades today. Brown earned his paycheck today. This was the first time in a long time where I saw Michigan control the line of scrimmage against OSU. Sacked Barrett 8-9 times I believe.

Only complaint I have is how no one could even touch Samuel on that 3rd and long in 2OT. He ran what must've been 10-15 yards backfield and had we taken him down, OSU is in a near impossible FG situation or a 4th and forever Hail Mary. Watching him scramble around our defense to make that 4th and 1 felt like watching Troy Smith or Terrelle Pryor skating circles around us.

I guess if I can see any positives today, it's Don Brown. Looking at what he did at BC with that level of talent, and everyone saying it's the 3rd year that you start to really see it come together. I'm confident that he'll have a D that is formidable next year, even losing an immensely talented group of upperclassmen. Beyond that, I'm still heartbroken.

Unfortunately, just tackling Samuel on that last 3rd down in the backfield might have done it, with how shaky the OSU kicker had been.

Still, Brown justified his hire.  This was a high-octane OSU offense that was largely stoned all game.
