Official EA Sports NCAA Football 2010 Thread

So who all picked the game up at midnight last night? Thoughts? Hints? Suggestions? I pre-ordered and was set to pick mine up but had an early call-in for work and didn't want to risk oversleeping because of 3 am gaming. Interested to hear what people think of the offense as played out and if Tate is really an 83/85 position rank. Can he gallop? Etc. Basically looking to hear more while I cannot play and maybe some people can throw around their gamertags for some MGoTournaments or whatever.

Real Tackles Wear 77

Just won my first game, Boise State 31- Georgia Tech 17. BTW, tackling is much better than last years. One major problem, they attempted to do more realistic pre-game on-field stuff, but completely butchered Michigan's. Just the band lined up in an inexplicable GO GO GO formation.

Does the Michigan band seriously spell out "Go go go" instead of the Block M? Fuck, that's lame. I'm sadly going to have to skip this year's edition. I have too much going on this year and that game is like crack to me. Have fun without me.

Well, I ran out to Game Stop this morning to get it, eagerly unwrapped it, and started playing. I break a super long run with Tate and then boom, a blueish hue covers the screen. I could still play, but everything had a blue tint to it, so I restarted the ol' Xbox and tried again...Same blue tint. I figured maybe I got a bad copy so I just kept playing with the intention of returning it later for a new copy. I played a few games online, in which I got straight up waxed, and then turned it off to go eat dinner. I came back and tried to boot up the Xbox, but was greeted by an E 74 error, which must be sent in and repaired by Microsoft. Thankfully it is under warranty so I don't have to pay for a fix, but now I have to sit and look at the case of a game I got to play once and am dying to play for a few weeks until my xbox is fixed...

This exact thing happened to me a few weeks ago. It went blue and then E 74'd the next time I turned it on. Thankfully, the repair process is pretty painless and quick. My local UPS guy said he gets about 8 a day - not really surprising but still ridiculous.

I just got a 360 and can get 09 for like $25 vs $60 for 10. People seem to be split on whether its awesome or not really that different from 09. If i get 09 can i still get this year's roster? -new to the 360 stuff

If really depends on what you care about in your games. In my opinion the actual football gameplay is significantly better in 10 than 09. Also the game mechanics have been changed to balance out the flaws of 09. -The AI has been improved a great deal in areas such as angles that defensive players use -AI no longer bites on lame glitches that are abused in 09 such as super juking. -No more impervious pass blocking -Passes actually go errant when the QB is hit -Defenders can really cover -Scrambling with the QB is no longer the answer to all problems I guess my only complaint is that EA tried to spice up the atmosphere of the college game and are bordering on overdoing it. -The band formations are a nice touch but many schools only have generic formations. -The commentary is only good for making Corso look like a fool -Erin Andrews serves no purpose other than being the only female in a football video game In other words do you want 10's better gameplay (feels more like a real game) with too much glitter or 09's flawed game mechanics (every team is essentially Texas Tech) for half the price?
