Yeah that certainly doesn’t sound too promising. Anywhere but Michigan would be the pick but for mom with that quote.

The kid’s obviously an all world talent athletically speaking, but part of that culture thing going on here right now is likely due to having guys who truly want to be here. Not to say that can’t happen once a player is officially in the program and he grows to buy in, but it’s not the best start. But let’s hope it goes that route.

Agreed.  The high point in track is the Olympics and then medaling there which brings a lot of dough in endorsements but is never a foregone conclusion.  He should major in football with a minor in track if his goal is to optimize his earnings potential.  And a focus on football should put him at Michigan, not Oregon.

Haven't I heard that he also want to be a doctor? All I ever hear him talk about is track. I agree that it sounds like he is looking to change his mom's mind. That always reminds me of Chris Spielman deciding that he wanted to go to play for Bo at Michigan and his father telling that he was going to Ohio State. Parenting was a little different back in the day.

I hope we get Harbor just because he's the most ridiculous athlete ive ever heard of (though hard to compare to old timers like Bo Jackson) but I don't think it's likely he's any good as a football player unless he gives up on track which he almost certainly won't do. So not too worried about him.

Sounds like he doesn't want to come to Michigan; but he wants to make his mom happy.

1. That's not going to work, not when Jim Harbaugh is your coach.

2. I'm still trying to figure out if he loves football...which is also a problem if you don't and Jim Harbaugh is your coach.

3. The mom thing is nice...but these things tend to drag to the last day to keep mom happy and then you finally have "the talk" where you're a man and its time for you to make your own decision, etc. - then you go elsewhere.

He definitely talks of going to Michigan like a trip to the dentist.

Mom wants me to go but would jump to first team that convinces her that sugary sweet drinks are the answer instead.

If he comes here, great, welcome. The fact that he wants to play TE instead of DE makes me just shrug and move on if he doesn't come. We have Loveland and the IU transfer and we have 2 in this class already including a 4*. Then another 4* next year and chasing another 4* local kid in Brady Prieskorn. If he wanted to play DE I'd be a little more invested in his decision.
