Musberger is right up there with Fred Jackson on hyperbole.

"You're looking live...at the storied Ryan Field in Evanston, Illinois for the 51st meeting of the Duke Blue Devils and the Northwestern Wildcats..."

That's his foremost skill.  Engage in hyperbole to keep the audience interested.  He's made a few bucks announcing sporting events (tough) doing that.

So it's 14-0 Alabama, Notre Dame is clearly overmatched, and we're headed for a blowout.  Talk about what's clearly happening on the football field?  Nah, it's better to find something else to talk about and Katherine Webb fit the bill perfectly.

Now maybe he should have been more aware as to how he would be perceived as a septuagenarian, but I think the "Oh that creepy Musberger" is overblown. Heck, Brent would talk about a peanut butter sandwich in the same tone.

What was the deal with the half onside kick to open the game. Would nick saban actually start the iron bowl with that? The rest of the team didn't look like they were expecting it.
