NFL cut day
In addition to game day (finally!) It is also deadline day for NFL teams to get down to 53 man rosters. I always like to follow along ane see how our guys do.
Only about a quarter of them have been announced so far, Ill try to update this list as the day goes on.

Don't get me started on what imbeciles the Lions are...but they cut Jake, and now they do not even have a #2, if Statsford goes down. Now Jake is available again.

The Dolphins had Jake play the entire last preseason game-- very well, according to the linked report below-- and since they have Ryan Fitzpatrick and Josh Rosen, seems like this was a good audition opportunity for him. The new post now on top of the linked page suggests that he's a shoo-in for the Practice Squad, but with that fine audition game, other teams might be watching. [Can't speak for the Lions.]

They started by cutting Isaac Nauta, which was surprising since TE's won the worst position group contest last season, and he played pretty well in the preseason.

Three new tight ends this year. Actually an area of strength now as they have lots of money allocated to thr position this year

Clowney traded to the seahawks for a 3rd round pick, and two rotation defensive ends.

McCoy to HOU is a lock at this point. I thought they were going to trade for him, now they can pick him up for free

All good. Like to see him excel but at the very least get an NFL paycheck for a few years. I know he's got a wife and at least one young daughter.

A little surprised by this. He did not perform well in preseason and he seems to lack that initial burst that is needed to get through the hole in the NFL.

I’d be surprised if Bunting doesn’t makes the Bears practice squad, which is what many fans believe.
