well, to take people's minds off the TCU game, we do have more football to talk about.

Tulane and USC are currently tied at 14-14, which is pretty surprising to me

I’ll never get over that review from Saturday. Every time when there’s a play where there’s more evidence to overturn the call and they don’t do it, like what just happened in the Mississippi State game, I’ll think about that play.

Illinois can't run the way they would like to in a bowl game either.

Sometimes the other team just won't cooperate with your amazing plan that you worked on all month.  Better have a Plan B rep'd and ready to go.

Puredon't stopped our running game by run blitzing much like what TCU did to us. There should have been a lot of our WR open when TCU was sending 8 D players into the backfield on every play to stop the run.

I don't know how much we can conclude -- other than LSU is probably better than Purdue.

Big 10 is 4-4 in bowls with Penn St still to play.  In bowl games (sans NCG) SEC will finish 6-5, ACC 5-4, Big 12 2-6.  Pac 12 is 3-2 with USC winning and Utah still to play.  But so much has to do with matchups, coaching changes, opt outs, portal stuff, etc etc.

Illinois should have won, but they missed their shots.  Shame, since having their opt out players probably would have been a solid win.

Orlovsky demonstrating why he's a bad analyst: LSU scored a TD on a Philly Special, and he said that Michigan wished it executed the play that well, but Michigan's attempt failed because the TCU corner played it perfectly. It was a bad call because of the situation, not because it failed.

To Orlovsky's credit, though, it's a good example of resulting.

PSU and Utah are two programs that win their bowl games over 60% of the time. I figure both will show up ready to play.

There is actually an inactive lead and silver mine called the, "Michigan-Utah Mine," on the backside of Solitude Ski Resort in Big Cottonwood Canyon, though the mine itself is associated with the Little Cottonwood Mining District that is now part of the Wasatch National Forest.

Other than that long past historical tie, I enjoyed my time in Utah quite a bit, so I'll be pulling for the Utes in this one.
