Great because without Herbie, the viewer would never be able to figure out the team which seems to have the momentum at the moment.

Basically the bread and butter of his analysis.

Have always found it weird they fly him all over the place to make sure he is doing the game they think is the biggest that week.

He does a good job but not anything that much better than any number of color guys who do college football for ESPN/ABC.

He and Fowler are the A-team, not sure what you expect.

Fowler lives in Miami so he doesn't have to go anywhere and Herbie can come there...then they have to call the Rose Bowl together so they'll both be headed out.

The #2 crew (McDonough/Blackledge) will get Bama/Cincinnati, No question.

ESPN/ABC only have but so many pairings. Why wouldn't they put their best on the best games?

Jeez, what a sad line-up of games, other than the four-team playoffs. I'm only interested in two of them -- the Rose Bowl and the Fiesta Bowl -- and that only to cheer against Ohio State and Notre Dame.

Bring back the 80s. Bring back USC, and Florida State, and Miami, and Washington, and Texas, and Auburn, and maybe even Brigham Young and Florida. I didn't cheer for most of those teams, but at least I enjoyed cheering against them. What a bland slate this is.

Baylor vs. Ole Miss? Iowa vs Kentucky? Bleccccch. No thanks. I can't imagine even their own fans care about those games.

Baylor/Ole Miss is a great game. As is Arkansas/Penn State (if Clifford is healthy).

WTF are you talking about?

ND vs. Oklahoma St.? Sign me up.

Exactly what bowl matchups would you have gotten in the old system that would've even better than this?

This is basically all the #5-#12 teams playing each other. I'll take that in a heartbeat.

You're excluding the best 4 teams, what did you expect? It's only going to get worse when we go to 8 or a 12-team playoff.

I mean I supposed we could go back to the system that would give us... Michigan/Utah, Bama/Baylor, Georgia/Ohio State, Cincinnati/Louisiana.

I'll take the playoff.
