Nebraska WR JD Spielman in Transfer Portal
He was about to break several records at Nebraska, so you know he really wanted to leave. Bumpy road so far for Frost.
Speed. Definitely want him.
Is Michigan even on his radar anymore? The team hasn’t really been making a bunch of headlines in the WR department the last 6-7 years.
I'm not so concerned with that as we already have a bunch of speedy slot types just like him on the roster. I think we're set at the WR position.
He has had the most explosive plays of any slot receiver in the country since 2017, the third most receiving yards in school history (2,546), and has had 5 return TDs. Yeah, we don't need anyone that good. We're set.
You can never have enough good receivers. Never.
That's wrong -- we signed our best recruiting class ever at WR 3 years ago. We have one of those players drafted already (DPJ) with another one highly likely to be drafted (Nico) next year.
We've also had 5 WRs drafted in the last 7 draft classes (to your specific point above) -- other than 2002 - 2008 that is the best stretch in UM history
If the highest achievement you can say for any Michigan receiver in the last 7 years is "they got drafted" then that's pretty fucking weak. I legit wonder when people make boasts like this if they just don't know what success looks like or if they're just making excuses.
without knowing anything, im guessing minnesota
Son of Vikings’ GM would also make him nephew of former Lion & Buckeye, Chris Spielman.
Wait, what? Rick Spielman, brother of Chris Spileman? That's his son? I never knew that.
Looks like Rick worships at the right Temple...
Yeah, adopted son.
Yeah, I figured that, but I never heard that. Even when watching them play.
I've never heard of JD Spielman and did not know he was adopted. How does an NFL GM adopt a kid that is good enough to play D1 college ball? I mean pro athletes biological kids often don't even make it that far. Crazy story.
Not-real response: Pro-level scouting. They go by DNA.
Real response: What a stupid f***ing question/statement.
Does Nebraska still have their receivers go into the 3 point stance? Irving Fryer!!
No they don't.
