Michigan plays ND on Friday at 5:30. In the upper half of the region, the winner will take on NoDak-Northeastern winner. Region takes place in Cincinnati.

It's the easiest we could hope for. We were either going to draw the best 3 seed or the worst, and we got the worst. Our 1 seed has easily the toughest first round opponent, and just finished the season with a loss and a tie in the NCHC playoffs. We are also the closest team to the site, as opposed to any other regional, where it would basically be a road game. Overall, it's a good draw for us.

It's a tough draw because the Irish play with a style that Michigan struggles against.

The Wolverines aren't great defending against transition teams. Notre Dame runs a very fast paced attack; they breakout cleanly, push the pace hard and get defenseman involved in the rush.

Notre Dame is going to be a tough out but they have lost 5 of their last 6 and have to be a little shaken in the confidence department. Gotta get out to a fast start and not play from behind.

Michigan last played an NCAA Tournament 3 seed on 3/25/2011 against Nebraska-Omaha: a 3-2 OT win. That game will be five years to the day prior to the game on Friday. That UNO team was the No. 12 overall seed. Just like Michigan's opponent on Friday is.

Also: the last time we played in Cincinnati in the NCAAs was 20 years ago when we won the National Championship.

I would like to make it down for the championship game of the regional if Michigan makes it.  Any recommendations on how to pick up a ticket for the championship game without paying through the arena?
