MSU injury update

I think their injury woes are a bit overblown. Yes, they have some injuries like they do every year vs Michigan (might want to revamp your strength and conditioning program), but I’ve heard some Spartan fans act like half their team is missing. They released their depth chart and they have most of the guys they have had all season.

On the OL they list Higby or Arcurri at left tackle. Higby is a multi year starter. Reid at RT who is a multi year starter. Bueter at center who has started games the past 2 seasons, and guards are Carrick and Campbell. Campbell is a multi year starter and Carrick has started a few this year.

They are without Stewart, who i believe is very overrated anyway and Dotson the TE. Seybert the other tight end has played more anyway and has more catches and TDs than Dotson.

On defense they are missing Bachie, but Noah Harvey had a big game replacing him vs Illinois. I don’t think Joe Bachie is some can’t miss pro prospect. He’s another guy in a long list of Spartan LBs who was a low rated recruit that racks up stats due to their aggressive nature on D. I’m sure there is a drop off to Harvey, but it doesn’t cripple them.

Point is, don’t take the bait and feel bad that they are the walking wounded. They have plenty of guys who have experience and have played a lot of football.

At least among the MSU people I know, this game has barely a tenth of the hype it normally would, and I've only heard a couple people use the injury line. A fair number of them are coming to Ann Arbor expecting to be ground into a fine powder.

They lacked suffient depth and talent to make a serious run at the Big 10 title beginning in August.  Their only hope was to develop fast and remain unusually injury free.  That didn't happen.

It is the coaches job to find and develop talent.  It is what it is.  Their current state represents the state of the program.  There is nothing unusual about their ability to field a team.

I hope no one gets hurt and the better team wins.

It's fine not to like MSU.  But when it seems like you purposely take shots at the talent level of some of their injured / suspended players,  to me you look like a major tool.

It's fine yo acknowledge the team you hate has some great players.  Like Bachie and Stewart.  Both good players who flash glimpses of greatness from time to time.  Stewart doesnt have big stats but hes far from overrated.

Same thing with Bachie.  He has the athleticism to play in the league for a long time.

I don't think the Michigan football team and coaches are taking the bait either.

As always Dantonio will have the Spartans pumped going into their Super Bowl game here, with RESPEKT at play.

The emotional appeals are going to work.

For a while.

Until the Spartans remember who they really are.

Regardless of Dantonio's motivational antics, and all of the yellow flags littering the field this Saturday in Michigan Stadium, the Wolverines are a bigger, deeper, faster and more talented unit that is probably going to steamroll Spartans much like Wisconsin did.
