More Commitments......Undergraduate Admissions decisions went out today.

Well apparently we'll be adding more Wolverines today beyond the football players. Undergraduate admissions just sent out their emails to anybody who applied for Early Action by November 1st. Congratulations to all the newly minted Wolverines. I distinctly remember the day I got my letter in the mail. Sorry that your email message may be slightly less tangible but I'm sure its still sweet.

To those of you who were deferred.....DO NOT FREAK OUT!!!!! The University typically only fills what amounts to half the incoming class with the Early Action students. There is still a LOT of room. They'll start rolling admissions in mid to late January and keep doing groups until they feel like they've sent out enough acceptances to fill a class. In many cases it just means they want a look at your fall grades so if you kicked butt in the fall, MAKE SURE YOU SUBMIT YOUR GRADES AS SOON AS YOU CAN.

My son got the #SigningDay email as well!  He’ll be second generation (my wife is ‘96 grad, I’m ‘92 grad)  He wants to join the M Marching Band - he’s a composite 5* ranked trumpet player.  He also plans to major in Aero Engineering. Got his brains and musical talent from my wife, but his love of All Things Michigan comes from me.  Go Blue!

Fear not, deferred peeps. I was deferred around this time years ago and somehow got the fat envelope two months later. Won’t ever forget that moment, was completely bowled over and ecstatic. Boy do the years go by in a hurry. Can’t even listen to certain songs without a Don Draper-level nostalgia earthquake that makes me long for those days. Go Blue!

I was rejected way back in the day.  I later found out all it took was a phone call from my dad who was a Michigan grad.  Being out of state, possibly he realized the strain it would be on the family pocketbook.

i must say I graduated first in my School of Business class and my dad promised me a new Mustang, that had just debuted, if I kept my 4.00 mid term grades.  I did and had the first Mustang in my town.  Only problem was I sold it six years later.  Maybe UM knew what they we’doing!  Lol!! ???
