The video is inverted. The Nike sign on his pants is backward, unless he's wearing some knockoff Nike's (no judgment here if he is). Crazy that the coaching/medical staff would allow him to play with that injury, especially this year. As a player, I'm sure he just wanted to stay on the field, so if that's the case, I appreciate his heart

Good news, the repaired thumb will help with his conversion to Tight End. He will be a match up nightmare if he can get a little forward lean into his running style. Sure he is a great kid, but he most certainly is not a D-1 Quarterback!!

When it comes to Milton's accuracy, this makes a lot of sense. He was really accurate with the short stuff like bubbles early on. He couldn't hit anything later in the year.

When it comes to coaching, this is actually worse than we thought. Why not put in Cade sooner? The thumb injury was clearly impacting Milton's performance it would probably heal faster if given time to rest.

If the Rutgers game was Cade's "Purdue 2017", maybe the coaches saw enough in practice to believe that Milton with a busted thumb gave them a better chance to win than Cade. Maybe JH turns to Dylan in the MSU or Indiana game if he was still here. We'll never know.

The bigger issue IMO is that our running game was so inconsistent that we couldn't let the QB manage the game with 15-20 throws.

Haters gon' hate.

Let's support these wonderful young men and wish them well.

I hope that they get great medical care, great coaching and are able to achieve their dreams.

GO BLUE!

This is what will unfold:

Milton will get a ton of praise in camp. They’ll chalk up the accuracy issues to his thumb injury. We’ll get reports that he is looking like “the best QB Harbaugh has had at Michigan.” We will hear about how they are incorporating his running more.

JJ will get praise but it will be reserved and the hall will say “he will be great one day but he’s not yet at the point where he’s commanding the huddle.”

We hear very little about Cade. Little rumblings about how he “looks good” and “in the mix” but that’s about it.

Milton opens the season as starter. We saw the same things unfold with Speight and Peters.

I wouldn't necessarily chalk it up to upper classman vs underclassman, especially since both saw a decent amount of playing time. In your comparison, I think Cade is more like Speight (lower upside but more reliable) while Peters is more like Milton (more upside and explosive but more inconsistent/unproven).

I kind of feel like Milton is Gattis' guy and Cade is Harbaugh's guy. I may have missed it but it seemed like Harbaugh was a bit more hands on with Cade (shoulder pad slapping and all). While Gattis was tooting Milton all off season. Which I think makes sense. Milton at his best can spread the field and gives the highest potential for the speed in space concept. Cade seems like the more reliable and consistent QB, which fits in the Harbaugh mold. If Harbaugh is taking reigns of the QB's, I'd bet Cade is the man.

Thumb injury aside, I thought someone posted in here that he was gonna transfer and hang 50 on Michigan? Hopefully that was either a bad rumor or it has been straightened out.

Our “insiders” are so useless. This didn’t come out until the end of the season that he “may” be hurt. Maybe would’ve changed the perception of the team and not have such a negative feeling to it from the outside

Silly Teldar. Surely you jest! We didn’t play MSU this year. The season, unfortunately, was cancelled by Kevin Warren after week 1. Often nights after the kids have gone to sleep I lay awake thinking of how we crushed Minny and wonder what could have been if we’d have been allowed to play more games.

Asking for a friend:  How many years in a row has Michigan's starting QB been injured in the first game of the year, never to return to form for the entirety of the season?

yet another item that you can hang any opinion from.

"milton sucks because he should've told the coaches"

"harbaugh sucks because he was obviously hurt."

"harbaugh sucks because he didn't have an options because he chased off mccaffrey."

"maybe harbaugh did a better job than you haters thought, if milton was hurt."

etc.

Tough spot to have everyone call you garbage and you’re playing hurt. I’ve been in elite military units less secretive. Sucks. Get well Joe.
