Now let me say this in advance: If the coach tells you to do something and you do it and it doesn't work, that's on the coach.  But if the coach tells you to do something and you don't do it and it doesn't work, that's on you.

I didn't see the game, so I don't know which one is true here, and I know Leach is an oddball (but I also think he knows his stuff when it comes to offense as well).

Your thoughts on this?  Not on Leach in general (we're past that) but on this particular reaction.

Meh. Anyone who gives a shit or is offended by his "rehetoric" towards his players is soft, dumb, and probably entitled.  Ever notice that people often use the the word "rhetoric" to describe someone's words only when they don't like what they said. They always come off as a pretentious counterfeit ass to me. "I dislike his his rehetoric and find it deeply disturbing". No you don't you pompous high horsing piece of condescending shit. Go back to using your teeth to scrape the Cheeto dust of your grubby hands and watching Tedx talks on YouTube. Worse than RGard. Ugh.

Leach "works" because he's in the middle of nowhere where the only thing he gets critiqued on is his funny sound bites. He would get eaten alive in any major conference and would absolutely break down when he would had to answer serious questions about his team and when he starts getting negative national press. The worst thing he could ever do for his career is leave Wazzu

I wouldn't try to make a story where there isn't one. He is using a metaphor. Anyone who is long in the tooth knows that it was often a common metaphor used to describe someone without a lot of ambition. Leach is just trying to light a fire under his team he isn't specifically calling anybody fat or dumb. geez.
