Someone didn't make it to the etc. section of the most recent Unverified Voracity... Although, Brian doesn't give the same link, just links to a tweet.

I would say its more tongue in cheek than sarcasm. If you look at the current table, certainly LC or WHU are better squads than Chelsea. Chelsea might even be watching them both in the UCL next year. And what the Blues wouldnt pay for Mahrez or Payet. Onviously in terms of being a "draw" for a crowd, the Foxes and Hammers arent exactly on the same level as Chelsea. Or several levels.

I think it would be funny to announce "Chelsea vs Milan" and then have the two high schools play in front of a confused and angry crowd.

The last game was fun--I look forward to this one also.

With both the Copa America and European Cup taking place this summer I'm guessing most of the big name players won't be participating in too many of the friendlies in the US this summer.  They'll be concentrating on playing for their country in these tournaments.

the exorbinant ticket prices for these ICC matches... I am all for growing the game here in the states, and perhaps bringing european teams and stars into town for a friendly is the best way to continue to do that, but it's not like you're going to see Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale going toe to toe with John Terry/Azpilicueta/Ivanovich for 90 minutes...

Perhaps these guys continuing to come into town, however, may start to make the case for a return to a grass playing surface... the width of the big house playing surface will always be suboptimal for footy (unless they elevated it as was discussed back in '94 for the WC), but I'd love to get the natural field back.

speaking of growing the game locally, it would really be great if they could get a Detroit City FC vs. the Men's Varsity squad or something along those lines as an opener too...

I'm not sure this will sellout like the previous game. Chelsea doesn't even come close to having as many fans as Man United and Real Madrid already played here. They should have gone with Barcelona vs Liverpool.
