With an asterisk next to all B1G and Pac12 teams with a note at the bottom that they’ve cancelled their games.

So if everyone in front of us loses a game, we move up and can be the champion???
August 24th, 2020 at 1:12 PM ^
In which case, we would still miss the playoffs as OSU, PSU, Oregon and Wisconsin would finish top 4. Can't catch a break.
August 24th, 2020 at 1:16 PM ^
But our name and brand puts us above Oregon tho right?? Right?
August 24th, 2020 at 2:02 PM ^
Our strength of schedule would have us catapult Oregon. Go Blue
August 24th, 2020 at 3:09 PM ^
Oregon has been in the playoffs and Rose Bowl in the last decade. Michigan? Well you know.
August 24th, 2020 at 2:48 PM ^
It's more Covid friendly for all the participating teams to be from the same region. So Oregon is out and UM is in. B10 champs = Natty.
August 24th, 2020 at 1:37 PM ^
We are going undefeated this year. Book it.
August 24th, 2020 at 2:41 PM ^
Too bad we lost our bowl game :(
August 24th, 2020 at 2:50 PM ^
That's how it worked in the BCS era and playoffs era. We should be top 10 at the en of it all!
August 24th, 2020 at 1:01 PM ^
Sounds about right if we had played
August 24th, 2020 at 1:03 PM ^
Can’t wait for many many schools to pass Michigan in terms of recruitment, development, and results.
August 24th, 2020 at 1:05 PM ^
Can say that for the rest of the B1G if a season happens without a hitch.
I think hitches are gonna happen.
August 24th, 2020 at 1:24 PM ^
What's the downside of playing until circumstances warrant cancellation?
August 24th, 2020 at 1:28 PM ^
Heart disease
Lost careers
Death
August 24th, 2020 at 1:41 PM ^
We'll have all that when the students start moving into the dorms and off campus housing.
August 24th, 2020 at 1:45 PM ^
It seemed funny at the time.
August 24th, 2020 at 2:21 PM ^
Having an army of people wating to say "I told you so dumbass" Also, a year off hopefully will cool college football a bit. i think the popularity of college football taking a little hit is probably a good thing. if its worth less there will be less incentive ti bend/break rules.

This is just creepy Puti, even the lone tree is terrifying!
August 24th, 2020 at 1:42 PM ^
So, after everybody playing plays their first game, wouldn't the PAC12 and B1G teams be removed from the poll?
August 24th, 2020 at 1:46 PM ^
Do "idle" teams always get removed from the polls? Hell, I'm a Mets fan and they moved up in the standings by not playing for the last 5 days.
August 24th, 2020 at 2:03 PM ^
I get your point, but we're idle for the duration.
August 24th, 2020 at 1:53 PM ^
The ranking doesn't matter if there's no CFB in the B1G.
August 24th, 2020 at 1:56 PM ^
Ranking teams which won't play is stupid.
August 24th, 2020 at 2:03 PM ^
I disagree. "Stupid" is not doing anything to prevent tens of thousands of people dying from a contagious but ultimately controllable disease.
Ranking teams in the absence of games is just some light-hearted tomfoolery to distract us from the ongoing clusterfuck.
August 24th, 2020 at 2:26 PM ^
since likely everyone in a position of authority did something, anything, effective or not, regarding covid, you just made an amazingly bold statement that there are no stupid people in positions of authority in this country. I respectfully disagree.
August 24th, 2020 at 2:28 PM ^
Your comment had absolutely nothing to do with what I said.
August 24th, 2020 at 2:39 PM ^
bighouse 00...m assuming this was to my comment...linked to momo comment, not yours. His, at least in part, seems to respomd to you.
Regarding rankings and stupidity....i feel any preseason rankings has been and will always be an exercise in stupidity...its like a yearly participation trophy for all the big programs. so i actually agree with the spirit of your statement.
August 24th, 2020 at 2:42 PM ^
I was responding to momo's comment.
August 24th, 2020 at 5:18 PM ^
Preseason rankings are stupid.
FTFY.
August 24th, 2020 at 3:32 PM ^
whoops, wrong thread. Ignore this!
August 24th, 2020 at 3:39 PM ^
And we don't play Army in September.... so there's that!
August 24th, 2020 at 3:39 PM ^
Michigan is rated way too low.
August 24th, 2020 at 7:10 PM ^
August 24th, 2020 at 7:43 PM ^
I see Big teams moving up the rankings while idle and SEC/ACC teams loosing starters with covid which is highly likely.
