Great stat about Rudock being 2 for 14 on passes greater than 8 yards. I would have trouble believing the stat if I had not watched Rudock play. Unfortunately, we've all seen him play and it's true. We'll know a lot more after NU & MSU.

I have a hard time believing he even watched the game with the way he is knocking our special teams and defense. Some of his comments are right but you could get some of those stats just by looking at any CFB stat website. The easiest part of this article for him was to write with such disdain when it came to anything good he could have written about. Like a horse wearing blinders and the such.

Winning hides most of our deficiencies, but when you look at Rudock's stats, they are not pretty.  His rating on ESP has him ranked 209, he has more INT's than TD's and he seems to be pressing.  In all fairness, most of the games have had a fair amount of wind. I remain hopeful that Jake will start improving on his longer throws, although some of what happened last week was on WR drops and Houma's slippery fingers.

The next two games will start revealing just how far we can expect to go.  I think while our run blocking is improved, it still has room to improve.  I am very encouraged that Drake is starting to show the speed at RB that he showed near the end of last season.

Fingers crossed.

Rudock is the worst Michigan QB that I've ever seen. Sheridan/ Threet were in the wrong system and Sheridan was a walk-on, but was still better.

The 11W stats say all you need to know about Rudock. Iowa let him transfer in conference. There was a reason for that.

Hide the fact that Sheridan was in the wrong system for his abilities and that was basically one concussion game for Shane. Also the OL's for Sheridan and Shane were not nearly as good as this current OL.

Rudock cannot complete a pass longer than 15 yards and the 11W stats mostly bare this out.

for his abilities. He couldn't put any zip on the ball, nor throw downfield. There were no systems where he's a good QB, but he was a decent runner and made pretty good decisions. The only reason he played was because the offense was a bad fit for Threet.

I enjoyed last week's article. This one? Not so much. The last line just wreaks of wishful thinking: "all they're missing is talent and depth." Da fuq? He also criticizes the rankings of the offenses we've dominated. Well, OSU, MSU, IU, and the rest aren't in the Top 40. If we continue to dominate them will he still moan about Michigan beating up on crappy offenses? OSU looked like hot boiled ass except for Ezekiel Elliott. To me, it felt like the author couldn't continue to praise Michigan while Ohio State keeps underwhelming so he came up with this flaming turd of an article.

Though I'm not sure I disagree with the "talent and depth" comment as it pertains to the offense. We recruited well, if the ratings services are to be believed, but the consensus is that the offense has underperformed. Receivers still drop way too many passes that should be caught and don't get enough separation; RBs can't seem to read the blocks without teleportation; and the OL's inability to create gaps in the defense is as much a symptom of other issues and the QB's limitations as it is a root cause of its own.

It's definitely a work in progress.

We don't have anywhere near the talent and depth Ohio State does, at least on offfense.  From his Ohio State perspective, he is not wrong.

And that is what is starting to deeply concern them.  Can you imagine this 2015 team with a better QB and some elite WRs?  What would we look like right now if we had a Henson or Hene and an Edwards or Manningham?

Well, he knows that is exactly what Harbaugh will have coming in, and it's freaking them out.

Michigan under Jim Harbaugh, however, is never going to be defined by its weaknesses. Instead, it will be defined by how it overcomes those weaknesses, and — somehow, someway — even turns those weaknesses into strengths.

While I had quibbles with certain parts of this analysis, this statement towards the end is something I would tend to agree with merely because of the apparent style of Harbaugh's coaching and the way in which this team plays. Even if there's a question at one spot, the answer is somewhere else. Even as the offense might work in fits and spurts, the defense is consistently insurmountable. It seems like a core operating principle of this team really.

Blake O'Neill could very well be Saturday's hero.
