Kris Jenkins
Will Johnson
Rob Moore
2nd Team
Donovan Edwards
Mason Graham
Josaiah Stewart
Junior Colson
Mike Sainristil
3rd Team
Roman Wilson

Notable exclusions (My opinion)
Paige
Keegan
Cornelius Johnson
Loveland (more projecting that by the end of the season, PFF will notice)
Are there any others you may feel could make the post season PFF All Big Ten Teams?
That's great. Beat Ohio State.
Keegan being left off is a major omission. The 3 interior OL are just going to maul people again this year. If one goes down, El-Hadi is at the absolute worst a 1/2 step down. Also, I do believe Henderson will be an upgrade from Hayes, and we should see improvement from Barnhart/Jones as well.
Another person to keep an eye on is Ernest Hausmann. I just re-watched the Nebraska game while watching a play, reading the UFR, and then watching the play again. #15 on Nebraska was the only player they had that really stood out. He was like a more-advanced freshman Junior Colson. He played at a very high speed but wasn't supremely out of control and he could lay the wood when given the chance and wasn't as indecisive as Colson was at times last season. Barrett is going to be a major contributor for this team, but I really think it is going to be hard to keep Hausmann off the field much this season.
Well, you need 3-4 LB's (and that's without significant injuries), so none of those 3 need to be off the field in any serious way.
same for the DL and OL... we are deep, however as we saw last year when a number of starters were down on the OL, depth is what separates the good from the great
El Hadi would start on any other Big Ten team. Shhhhhh!
I think Hausmann ends up being what the MGoBlog writers keep trying to wish into existence for Junior Colson.
CJ went off against osu, but has been inconsistent during his time here. I thought he had “arrived” with that catch against Indiana in 2020, but he’s had a good bit of drops since.
Roman will breakout this year if CJ is able to stretch the field.
I think that The Don wins the heisman if we use him like they used Percy Harvin and Curtis Samuel
JJ, Corum and Edwards in NY as finalists would be epic....LOL
If both had the numbers (and let's be honest, it's a numbers award) to be invited, that would mean a running success rate that left JJ with about 10 pass attempts per game.
I think they could all get theirs. There is definitely a path to New York for Corum and Edwards.
JJ had 322 attempts last year. Cade had 25.
Blake had 247 carries in 11.5 games
The Don had 140 Carrie’s and 18 receptions in 11 games, but had 20 receptions in 2021. Career got of 12.2. My guess is that the broken hand limited his receptions last year.
The ooc schedule is weak again, so JJ could still only have ~325 regular season attempts.
Blake could get his 250 carries for 1,500.
The Don should hit 180 carries and 1,200 yards on the ground. 40 receptions for 500 yards is totally reasonable especially with Ronnie Bell and his 62 receptions gone.
Touchdowns will be the biggest factor. I’m just not sure if there are enough to go around unless JJ and the Don connect for 6+ through the air. Blake could hit 20 on the ground. I just don’t see JJ getting 40+ total tds though.
I was thinking in similar terms.... Edwards production might be slightly more receiving than rushing, Blake on the ground and JJ doing JJ stuff.
Obviously it's not likely that even two players from the same team are finalists... but its still fun to throw around. I mean if they totally light it up with gaudy numbers in the easier part of the schedule, there is room for each of the three to have Heisman type season stats.
The Don had 140 Carrie’s
Then he should probably keep his pants on!
...I'm sorry, what?
CJ at his best gives off Manningham vibes; I think the hope is better play at the QB position will enable him to bring that on a more consistent basis.
But overall, he and Wilson are great deep threats and can make a few plays after the catch, but neither is that reliable as a chain mover like Ronnie Bell was. I don't think either is quick or physical enough.
CJ needs to drop the ball early in each game. Seriously. Every time he does, he then responds with 2 big plays. He should be targeted 4x on the first drive.
I don't think it is necessarily CJ but more of our offense. It seems we only have 1 main guy and then a bunch of others come on in a game by game basis. One game was Roman, then 2 years ago it was AA, for a game. Only time in last 15 years we had 2 guys perform at a consistent level with 50 plus catches was JC and AD and they were good WR buy not good enough to stick in the NFL. Maybe they still are on PS or something but haven't heard of them in a while. If Michigan throws 30 plus a game we will have much more consistent WR games but Michigan seems to spread the ball around more then most teams.
Keegan not on there is absolutely stupid
I feel like Keegan gets purposely forgotten/downgrade because he's not Zinter and then people are shy about having Zinter and Nugent and Keegan listed.
How many years has it been since OSU's starting QB was last NOT projected as the First Team All Big Ten?
Maybe 2017 with Trace McSorely or 2015 with Conner Cook? Otherwise I'd have to believe its been all OSU for at least a decade.
As recently as 2021, PFF projected Penix over Stroud.
Yes, Loveland is primed for a major season and not having him on a pre-season all B1G team will turn-out to be an oversight.
Crazy to see this name..
>>>Edge Aaron Lewis, Rutgers
On the first team defence.
Keegan is an embarrassment of riches. Even though it’s PFF it would seem they are still taking the approach that you can’t mention the entire o-line and need room for other schools.
A guy that’s going to get drafted and play in the NFL seems like he should get mention.
Funny thing is Nugent isn't even guaranteed the starting job. I expect him to get it but there have been talks RA might get it. I think MB could have been a 3rd teamer and EH should or could be on there. Also maybe BM
Can't name a better TE in the BIG, and the Iowa TE now on Lions. So I don't know how Loveland isn't on the list.
TE on the list...
1st team: Brevyn Spann-Ford, Minnesota - 42 catches, 497 yards, 2 TD
2nd Team: Erick All, Iowa
3rd Team: Theo Johnson, Penn State - 20 catches, 328 yards, 4 TD
