Michigan Hockey @ #7 Lowell Game Thread

Submitted by gwkrlghl on

Well WolverineDevotee has sworn off mgoblogging and I haven't seen CenterIce much this year. Perhaps this will be me talking to myself...

#14 Michigan (1-2-0) at #7 UMass-Lowell (2-0-1).

Michigan should probably be happy with a split this weekend (also @ #12 BU). Lets see how this goes. JT Compher is playing tonight FWIW (he was in doubt).

but we 'sound' better than we've played in any game so far. We seem to be controlling play pretty well except for the 2 Lowell goals which seemed pretty sudden.

Though our radio guys are noted homers so its hard to be certain of this

Zach Hyman is a program guy. He came to Michigan the OJHL player of the year and couldn't score for 2 years. Most players like that take the easy way and leave for the CHL.

Hyman stayed and played a forechecking role for 2 years. Hard work pays off. Now the scoring is starting to come.

so I'm drinking some Mad Hatter IPA's and hittin' a little Master Kush.

I am listening to the Michigan hockey game on WTKA, and watching the Devils/Stars game muted. I am totally freaking out right now.

I find myself getting really confused, because the audio doesn't match the visual.

3-2 this period. I feel like Michigan rarely ever gets in these shootout games (but then again we struggled to score 2 goals/game last year so maybe that shouldnt be surprising)

Hope this turns into an epic 20K thread -- he can still get a hatty!

This game tonight is a great example of the old hockey addage, "the most dangerous lead is a 2-goal lead."

Let's go BLUE!!!

Clearly me getting to 20k is good luck for the team so for all games the rest of this year we will

  1. We have a pregame negbang thread to get me back under 20k
  2. I will re-achieve 20k in thread
  3. Michigan will win out and be 2015 National Champions

Doesn't deserve it's own thread but Mike Weber is killing an undefeated King HS in the PSL championship tonight.  King has only given up 38 points in 8 games, (6 shutouts).

The last two year's incredibly frustrating teams could beat #1 Minnesota 6-2 one night and then lose to Penn State for the 3rd time in a year to eliminate themselves from the tournament yet again the following week.

Tonight is definitely great to see and may be galvanizing to the team, but it's too soon to tell and losing 5-1 at home to UNH remains very concerning

the line of Larkin, Hyman, and Kile are on a misson for world domination.......they are KILLING Lowell tonight.....and like Center Ice said, could not be happening to a more deserving guy than Zach Hyman
