Ha, at UF this is the dude I used to call Matt Patricia during practice because of the resemblance. I liked him, intense guy, fiery during practice and always involved with the D coaching against the offensive scout team. Can't hurt to add, he's worked with some good coaches

I like how many coaches with SEC connections we've been hiring this offseason. Would be nice to get more recruits from that extremely talent rich region! That's obviously partly what Harbaugh is doing with these hires.

Is Jim Harbaugh a big fan of Matt Zenitz? This is the 4th hire (MacDonald, Helow, Linguist, and Osborn) from his list of up and comers from list year:

And we nearly hired Christian Robinson who was on part one of the list.

Looks like his hernia mesh is doing its job...that's DT material right there, folks.  Also, I heard his nickname is just a low, rumbling sound with no discernible, unnecessary syllables.  I like him.

Ugh.

Had a right-side inguinal laparoscopic hernia repair surgery (to install the mesh) that went horribly awry. Intestine became incarcerated, developed peritonitis, had to get an emergency full "open" nine days later. Woke up minus an appendix. "Well, since we were rooting around in there anyway, we decided to remove it..."

Head nurse dozed on her shift. Pain med IV ran out for eight hours. Dilaudid made me shake uncontrollably while I slept. Developed a thrombosis in my left arm. Walked out minus 30 pounds and a with a post-operative ileus.

Seeing "hernia mesh" now makes me twitch uncontrollably.

I am sorry for your pain. Your story tops mine.  I developed an infection in the mesh leading to multiple surgeries. One time my fingers swelled to the size of bananas.  Other gross things that are too disgusting even for this board but makes for a story that makes people laugh.

OMG!  I'm so sorry.  I always point out to my patients during an exam if they have a hernia "pulsation" vs. a frank hernia and warn them to back off if they have any pain when lifting or straining.  You just totally reinforced my need to continue.  Good awful story man.

It also might be noteworthy that Michigan has offered 2022 QB Ty Simpson. Simpson is the son of UT-Martin head coach Jason Simpson. Not that this would seal the deal, but it would potentially be a familiar face pulling in Michigan's direction.

EDIT: FYI, Ty Simpson is a 4-star, the #2 dual-threat QB, and #42 overall in his class.

Harbaugh knows he has to fill his roster with southern high school players and he knows he has to get back into Ohio. Prep football down south is much better than the Northeast and Midwest including Ohio which is the best in the Midwest. I watched Mona Shores and West Bloomfield play Saturday and they would be lucky to get into the third and fourth round of the playoffs in the Carolinas, Georgia and forget it in Florida or Texas. There is a reason the SEC is so good because they do not go far for future NFL players. The Midwest is much more basketball, wrestling and hockey.
