Could go undefeated at home, that is pretty favorable.  Odd there are not 2 games against Staee.

I see a 5-4 record on the road (losses to Purdue, OSU, Maryland, Wisconsin).

will have a contender this season. All the ingredients are there---talent, leadership, experience, and coaching. We will surprise!

13-5 in the B1G

I believe this will be good enough for a tie for 2nd place...

I'll say we lose that tiebreaker and we're seeded 3rd in the B1G Tournament.

We will make the B1G Championship game versus #1 seed Maryland...from there, all bets are off.

23-7 for this Michigan team in the regular season.

#3 seed puts us in the quarterfinals.

Win 2 games and that's 25-7 going into the championship game.

Win the championship game versus Maryland and that puts us as a low 3/high 4-seed. Lose and we're a 5-seed.

Likely a very tough draw (4's and 5's draw each other and then the #1 seed in the Sweet 16 - "The Shot").

Looking at the schedule...that's where I'm going to put my "over/under" at for this team and my expectations. Which is actually higher than the #6/#7 seed range I said preseason without seeing the schedule.

I know "In Beilein We Trust" but we lost to NJIT and EMU last year with LeVert and Walton. I don't expect us to be world beaters and I don't think today we're a top 25 team. In March? I see a very strong top 25 team that no one would want to play.

We don't get to play Ohio State twice? Lame.

2 seasons ago, we had an away game at OSU with no return game. Where's the make-up for that?

It should've been this season.

That pissed me off too.  And I think the reason is the same as why we traveled to East Lansing in football two straight years....because Maryland and Rutgers joined the conference and threw the whole schedule off balance.

Last year should have been a one game return with OSU playing at Crisler and no trips to Columbus to even things out and that didn't happen.  Now OSU again gets us at their place and no return trip to Crisler.

Assholes.

It don't matter. We kicked their ass last year with half a team. Spike Albrecht outplayed their superstar D'Angelo Russell, and Russell was the only guy on that team last year who was any good.

Beilein can take care of them again this year.

I'll take not going to indiana (did they rename assembly?) or Breslin.. and if I were penn state, I'd be pissed about having two virtual road games against us

At least we don't have to go to Breslin or Indiana. The top ten Maryland twice in two months is rough. We'll have to earn the title but I think it's ours to lose.

Glad we don't have to go to Bloomington. That place has never been kind to us.

That game at Wisconsin will be tough, but a good chunk of the production from that team is now in the NBA. And we played them really tough last year even without LeVert. It'll be a tough game for sure, but if the team stays healthy, it's doable.

Somewhat stinks that we have no return game against OSU, but we wiped the floor with them at Crisler last spring with only half a team, and the last time we played them at full strength in Columbus, we handled them fairly well. So I say bring those suckers on.

I know its too late, but fuck, Maryland and Rutgers being in the big ten BLOWS. This watered down conference schedule sucks.

http://collegebasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/06/25/updated-2015-2016…

I've heard them as #1 elsewhere

Big Ten mentions:

2. Maryland

  • Who’s back: Melo Trimble, Jake Layman, Jared Nickens, Michal Cevosky
  • Who’s gone: Dez Wells, Richaud Pack
  • Who they’re getting: Robert Carter, Diamond Stone, Rasheed Sulaimon, Jaylen Brantley
  • Why they’re here: Getting Trimble to announce that he will be coming back to school is huge, as is the return of Layman, because the Terps are going to have plenty of firepower up front. Georgia Tech transfer Carter and top ten recruit Stone will headline one of the better front lines in the Big Ten, and adding Sulaimon gives the Terps talent at every position.

12. Michigan State

  • Who’s back: Denzel Valentine, Lourawls Nairn, Bryn Forbes, Matt Costello, Gavin Schilling
  • Who’s gone: Travis Trice, Branden Dawson
  • Who they’re getting: Eron Harris, Deyonta Davis, Matt McQuaid
  • Why they’re here: West Virginia transfer Harris is going to have a chance to be a very, very good player in this back court. They need Nairn to take a significant step forward, particularly offensively, but Valentine may end up being the Big Ten Player of the Year. Adding Davis will help inside, but this group would be even more potent had they managed to hang onto Caleb Swanigan.

16. Indiana

  • Who’s back: Yogi Ferrell, James Blackmon Jr., Troy Williams, Robert Johnson, Hanner Mosquera-Perea, Nick Zeisloft
  • Who’s gone: Max Hoetzel, Stanford Robinson
  • Who they’re getting: Thomas Bryant, Juwan Morgan
  • Why they’re here: The four things that Tom Crean needed to have happen did: He landed a commitment from Bryant, a shot-blocking and rebounding presence around the rim, while getting Ferrell, Blackmon and Williams back for another year.

17. Michigan

  • Who’s back: Caris LeVert, Derrick Walton, Zak Irvin, Kameron Chatman, Ricky Doyle, Spike Albrecht, Aubrey Dawkins
  • Who’s gone: Max Biefieldt
  • Who they’re getting: Moritz Wagner, Duncan Robinson
  • Why they’re here: The Wolverines struggled last season while dealing with injuries, but they return everyone that matters from last season, have a front line with a year of experience under their belt and John Beilein. I’ll bet on that.

19. Wisconsin

  • Who’s back: Nigel Hayes, Bronson Koenig
  • Who’s gone: Frank Kaminsky, Sam Dekker, Josh Gasser, Traevon Jackson, Duje Dukan
  • Who they’re getting: Brevin Pritzl, Charlie Thomas, Alex Illikainen, Jahlil Iverson
  • Why they’re here: You’re going to be the guy to bet against Bo Ryan turning this into a top 25 team? We’re not.

I haven't been this excited for the upcoming football and basketball seasons since 2012. Me being a former basketball player and more involved in that sport I am most excited for bball. This is the deepest team since JB got here and I think could be the most talented if players progress as I expect. I think UM could finish as high as #2 (behind Maryland) and as low as #6. Go Blue!

I'm fine with just one game against State, especially when that one is at home. Playing at the Breslin is always a tough game, although its extra sweet when we win there. And playing the Buckeyes in Columbus as never really worried me, their atmosphere as always felt more like an NBA game, in my opinion.

My best case is 24-6 (14-4) with losses at NC State, at SMU, at Maryland, at Iowa, at Wisconsin, and at Purdue. You could probably exchange one of those likely losses with a win and put the loss in an unexpected game.

My worst case is 16-14 (8-10) with Michigan not winning any of their tough games in the conference and losing to Xavier and one game in the Battle 4 Atlantis.

I'll go on the high side and say 22-8 (12-6) with a solid #5/#6 seed and a run to the Sweet 16.
