Meta: Request for Banner Update
Seems with this being OT season and HTTV already published it would be a good time for some housekeeping. I, for one, would love to see a new banner.
As much as I like the current version with the flying "It's Happening!" Harbaugh head and his peruvian alpaca hat, that event has now "happened". The other Harbaugh pic in hte banner I believe is actually a photoshop of him coaching at Stanford...the non-skinny M is a giveaway.
I enjoyed a few years back when Brian made updating the banner into a user submission contest which was then voted on by the masses. There are some creative, artistic minds here...and also some crazy ones, which make for a good deal of humorous entries.
Perhaps some ideas in the comments would help get the ball rolling...
Whatever is done, is fine, BUT do not lose Jim Hackett! We will always be grateful for what he did in his short, but impactful tenure serving his alma mater!

are the most disgusting people in college football. Just shut the fuck up already. That they still don't get it and feel that they are victims of the persecution of their precious football program (vs. victimhood of raped children) further proves that it was indeed the cult of Happy Valley that created this shit storm.
Had they been contrite, took their medicine, explained how horrible the situation was and how it can never, ever happen again...and that they were not complicit or knowledgable of the ongoings, we could have accepted this as the evil of a few men.
By taking this stance, they simply prove that it is a institutionalized mass delusion, from the local community, to the university, to the former players and alumni. Let them build a compound and let's send in the feds to burn it all down.
Burn the whole damn place down!

Seriously, you could do a leadership seminar just about the way this man handled his business. You could even throw out the results of his efforts.
1. Making sure the community feels it has a stake and input.
2. Happy-feely stuff handled like a professional.
3. Pushing the team and its members (AD department) above his own grandstanding.
4. Oh hell with it, fucking delivering when it matters most.

What types of things would you like to see different? Forum structure?
The banner is nice and all, but what I really want to hear the plans for site functionality. I don't even care that it doesn't happen now, or next mont: I just want to know the game plan.

Agreed, it does seem a bit odd to still be using photoshopped versions of Harbaugh in Michigan gear. We don't have to do that anymore.
I'd totally GIS that at work to post it but...
I think adding the hand drawn picture of a wolverine to the banner is quite possibly the biggest no brainer of all time.
By the way, this is the first time I've ever been able to get a picture to upload! Game on!

I've been printing them out and mailing them in because everything else I've tried never worked.

Harbaugh, Woodson, Howard, Leach, Brady etc would do.
I love the banner. I would only want an update if it was stunningly, obviously, fantastically, and other "...lys" better.
This would essentially be the argument in favor of the "naked guy" banner that others have described above, but also for the reason that there is something about that particular submission which captured the site's modus vivendi rather well and in an amusing way.
Or we could skip that, of course. In all seriousness, a new Harbaugh-themed banner would not be a bad move at all, and the current one is pretty good, I do agree.
I'm oblivious to the banner and formatting. It's MGoBlog and it contributes to its uniqueness, imo. Then again, I'm color blind so perhaps the yellow and green color scheme could use a makeover.
Our current banner has three Harbaughs on it.
