Read the article and it seems to state that the "direction" of the bonus is at the AD's discretion. I don't know if Tucker can ask that it be re-directed same as JH did? I'd need to get more nuanced details before I just attribute this as a 100% negative for Tucker; however, I already have more than enough reasons to dislike the guy, his players, and organizaton.

It’s easy for me to want to believe anything negative about those AHoles in EL, especially right now. However, the critical thinker in me sees USA Today as about a seventh grade level of reporting and suspects there may be more to the story. For some reason it sounds on brand tho.

I'm a doctor. A patient gave me a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates as a thank you gift.
The chocolate went in the staff kitchen and the wine went home with my medical assistant. This isn't that hard.

Yes, to be fair, it doesn't say he "kept" the entire $100,000. It was "paid" to him. There is no follow up information as to whether he distributed it to his staff.

Ishbia is overpaying low level assistants by 4x their value. Any assistant would run there for 3 years to take ishbia money and laugh out the door after being let go.

Its a curious look for the overall athletic department and their AD. But given that the AD had full discretion over the bonuses and gave it all to Tuck doesn't mean much other that he probably hasn't built much goodwill with the rest of MSU's staff.

That’s the portion of this list On that fan base, ish is didn’t pay that contract Michigan taxpayers did. The other thing is I heads they still owe money or are dragging their feet on paying out some Nassar victims but have the money for this ridiculous contract and bonus structure. The AD should be fired especially after circling the wagons around Tuck after 10 percent of his team was just arrested for having a hissy fit after getting whooped by UM

This does not seem like something sports reporters go fishing for unless they were leaked a very specific tip by someone inside MSU, presumably someone in their athletic department. Very likely someone who works long hours for a five figure salary, where a $1,000 to $3,000 bonus means a heck of a lot.
