Christian committed so early he doesn't get mentioned a lot.  He can obviously score having averaged 39.3 ppg in his playoff games.  Looking forward to seeing him suit up in the Maize and Blue!

After perusing the article, I saw the little blurb about John Bol. Had no idea that John Bol wasn't related to Bol Bol.  They have the exact same body type and skill set.  He would be an awesome get for Michigan as well.

EDIT: also a 4.0 GPA and speaks 3 different languages.  Clearly Michigan man material

Bol is a common surname among the Dinka (the ethnic group in South Sudan to which Manute Bol and Bol Bol belong). According to Manute Bol, the surname means “blessing.”

Deng is another popular Dinka surname (you probably remember Luol) and John Bol’s father has this name.

And Christian Anderson continues to impress. I think he’s going to be an excellent college player, even if he doesn’t grow another inch (still, drink lots of whole milk, young man).

Oh great, another HS all-star that will underachieve as a freshman and leave early to develop in the NBA.  Pointless. Fire Howard!

Am I doing this right?!?

We can have him wear a Uconn jersey for 3 years so he can be the most dominate player in college basketball and go untouched by the NBA. Not bitter that Caleb and Diabate are in the pros and Sanogo is playing in the NCAA, nope not me.

Fucking NBA execs suck ass at their job. And before any of you say some dumb shit like 3 point shooting or jump shots - Diabate.

"People also ask

Will Sanogo go to the NBA?

Sanogo would be among the preseason National Player of the Year favorites if he does return, and Sanogo isn't currently considered a top NBA prospect as he's not listed among the Top 54 this year on the CBS Sports Big Board"

NBA bigs need to have quick enough feet to guard on the perimeter unless they are Nikola Jokic. Diabate does, Sanogo doesn't. Dickinson just shot 40% on threes, and Luka Garza also developed a lethal 3 point shot but they weren't major NBA prospects because of how slow they are laterally. They are pylons on defense against NBA athletes.

Kofi Cockburn was basically a bigger Sanogo, averaging 21 and 11 in the Big Ten. He ended up in the Japanese B league.

Jumping = foot speed? News to me.

From his NBA Draft Room scouting report: "Moussa is a plus athlete for his size and is very coordinated with excellent agility."

From Sanogo's Draft Room scouting report: "Is somewhat heavy-footed and a low center of gravity guy. Isn’t great guarding in space."

This kid is so underrated that it is not even funny.  He is absolute fire shooting from distance.  He dominated at the FIBA U16 playing for Germany last year and was the MVP of the tournament leading his team to the gold medal.

He was only 5'8" until recently so his rating was low due to his height but he has recently started a growth spurt - both of his parents are tall (dad is a 6'6" former player) so good chance for him to get to 6'1" or taller.

He is also a really smart kid from a great family.  I think this kid is going to be a stud and a great representative of the University.

I’ve been looking forward to Christian Anderson playing for us since he committed. He’s a winner! And an incredible basketball player! He is not playing games with recruiting - I’m just hoping we can keep him!!

You know, Bol, for a 7'2" guy, kinda looks muscular. He looks like might be a real find if we can get him into the fold. The part where he 'searches for a program that “actually wants him,” ' kinda makes me wonder how a program is going to prove they actually want him, though.

Great to see this talent heading north!

Lot of very good baseball players here.  I coached a kid in 8U through 10U who is headed to UGA.  Top 10 rated nationally as a senior in high school.  Good kid and a joy to coach.  Parents are great, too!

edit: my bad - my brain has switched full on for baseball.  Read the OP incorrectly!

A lot of people are going to be disappointed when this kid needs a lot of time to develop. He is going to struggle to get his shot off early due to his size, lack of overall quickness, and strength.

Luckily for us, Dug will be a junior and George Washington III will be a Soph when he comes in so he won’t have to be a 30+ minute per night player. He can ease into his role. The one thing he will provide is some outside shooting. Juwan really needs to hold onto this kid, he’s going to keep getting better and better.

Ehhh on Washington too and unfortunately you don’t know if either will be around at that point. My point still stands kid could be thrust into action before he is even close to ready. Need better

If people really want to compete in B1G and tournament Michigan needs better. That’s where all my evaluations on kids always go to. Can the kid help Michigan win B1G and make it to the F4. I’m used to getting attacked for pointing out recruits aren’t it. Happened all the time with TA and JB. And listen JB had a ton of misses on kids he took at Michigan.

Thanks, Maizen...

We get it - nobody is good enough.  Nobody is an improvement.  Nobody can shoot, or defend, or rebound, or be tall enough or fast enough.  Nobody has any ability to grow as a player or person.  Michigan only recruits nobodies.  Thanks for the input, though...
