Matt Wile Promoted to Arizona Cardinal's Active Roster
Former Michigan punter Matt Wile has been promoted from the Arizona Cardinals practice squad to the active roster. Wile was added to the practice squad earlier this month. Great to see alumni like Matt and Joe Kerridge getting shots on professional rosters!

Always great to see our football alumni getting some shine. Excellent first post, to the point and provided a link.
Just a bit of constructive criticism, you may want to put the Arizona Cardinals in the title, just to provide a bit more clarity. But this post was lightyears ahead of what some other veteran members of the blog have posted in just the last 24 hours. So, thank you!

He had two punts for a 58 yard average in his first game. Not too shabby!
One punt was for 59 yards and the other for 57. Needs to work on his consistency I guess.

a minimum of $6,900 per week. So while that isn't chump change, I think most would agree that $30k per game for as long as you can get it would be better, which is what I assume his point was with that comment.

Did you ever see the Daniel Tosh bit about Brett Favre? It reminds me of that. How much does a backup quarterback make? Yeah, I'll do that. How much for practice squad? Yup, I'll do that too. :)

Yeah, he had a 59 yard and 57 yard punt in that game, against the Cardinals coincidentally. So obviously they were impressed.

But obviously an impressive audition for Arizona.
Also of note, with M's reputation as a hotbed of legendary holders:
Coach Bruce Arians said last week Wile’s promotion would hinge not only on his kicking but also his ability to hold on placekicks – a part of special teams that didn’t go well in Miami, with a missed field goal, a missed extra point and a blocked extra point.

With their ex punter Butler booming 25 yard punts I didn't think it would be long before they moved Wile to the active roster.

The Cardinals are a great team for a punter to start his career. Nice weather and lots of opportunities to see the field.

Nice. If I remember correctly, Wile was the one San Diego State commit that Hoke flipped/brought with him when he was hired at Michigan.
