He was a LB recruit in HS
His UM bio says that his dad played football at Ball State. He's the right size. I wonder what his career plans are?

It's difficult to switch sports this late as there is a lack of development time. Adam Coon (UM heavyweight 8 years ago) tried the XFL for OL and the Titans even signed him a couple years ago, but I believe he's back trying to make the next Olympic Team.
Parris will try to make the Olympics and Worlds teams the next few years. There's no money in that. But he's on that level. He was the Junior freestyle world champion.
Olympic and worlds do freestyle and Greco Roman, not folkstyle like in college. It's possible Parris is even better at freestyle as the stylistic differences favor some athletes. Myles Amine was a great folkstyle wrestler, but he's arguably better at freestyle. Joe Warren as an all American at Michigan in 03 but later a Greco Roman world champion. Coon is great at Greco Roman. Parris is more of a shooter/counters than upper body throws. He's around 265, not 285, and very fast and agile for his size.
If he wants the possibility of future money, he could try to sign a futures contract with WWE like Gabe Steveson did. But Gabe won a gold medal making him immediately marketable as a badass. Parris would need a World or Olympic medal to have a quick rise to the top and not be just a guy trying to make it.
He's also completed an engineering degree. He has options for when wrestling ends.
He is a fifth year senior. He may still have a COVID year of eligibility, but hardly enough to transition and have impact in football. Far smarter to stay the course in wrestling.
As soon as he switched from Wrestling training routines to Football training routines he'd automatically put on 15 lbs. (+/- a few) without any special effort to bulk up, And he'd still be in great shape.

That’s a great accomplishment, congratulations for a victory in an extremely tough sport
Next stop, the Performance Center in Orlando and NXT! HBK, Triple H, and William Regal eagerly await your arrival. Let the Brock Lesnar career path take you far!
Mason was dominant this year.
Now let’s see him on our DL depth chart next season.
With NIL encouragement he might be tempted to give it a shot.
💣 awesome news.
Awesome!! What a great day for Michigan sports!

And so is he!
Go Blue!!! Wrestling is a tough sport and he's put more work in than many realize.
Got to watch the entire match during the first intermission of the hockey game. Pretty cool to see multiple championships in the span of an hour. Go Blue!!
