Hail Yes!
December 4th, 2010 at 3:28 PM ^
Maryland dominated possession and scoring opportunities. Hail to Michigan for holding down the fort and taking advantage of their limited goal-scoring chances.
Go Blue!

Congratulations to coach Burns and the boys!
Does anyone know who they will play, or what game sets that up?
December 4th, 2010 at 3:31 PM ^
They'll play the winner of the Akron-Cal match which is about to kick-off. Akron beat Michigan 7-1 earlier this year so I'd like to get another shot at them.
December 4th, 2010 at 3:51 PM ^
I graduated from high school with Akron's coach Caleb Porter. He was a good friend of mine back then
He had his run at success last year.... now it's my Alma Mater's turn
Go Blue

December 4th, 2010 at 3:32 PM ^
Yeah, the shot of the Terps' mascot walking away was priceless, I may have LOL'd
December 4th, 2010 at 4:01 PM ^
"Suck it, Terrapin!" at my computer as I say the mascot walking away all sad.
December 5th, 2010 at 2:43 PM ^
Can you share that shot (link, whatever)? I love the terrapin as a mascot, but I'd love it even more all bummed after a defeat at Michigan's hands.

December 4th, 2010 at 3:42 PM ^
wow very impressed with this team. Should do wonders for recruiting and maybe keep build us into a consistent national powerhouse.
December 4th, 2010 at 3:43 PM ^
Keep in mind that Soony is out for the first game next weekend. Could be huge loss.
December 4th, 2010 at 3:48 PM ^
Michigan has made this far and beat Maryland where Maryland is a huge favorite to win the game. Michigan was probably the worst team of all of the remaining teams in the elite 8. They overcame the odd and beat the national powerhouse.
December 4th, 2010 at 3:49 PM ^

December 4th, 2010 at 3:49 PM ^
has cal played any big 10 teams
like to see how they have done against any similar opposition
December 4th, 2010 at 3:57 PM ^
Both Michigan and Cal have played Indiana and Notre Dame. Both teams played Notre Dame to a scoreless draw, Michigan in Ann Arbor, and Cal in South Bend. Cal beat Indiana 2-1 in overtime in Bloomington, while Michigan lost there 2-1.
December 4th, 2010 at 3:48 PM ^
7-1 loss to akron, daaam
was that at akron or Michigan ?
I think were a much different team now then we were then
December 4th, 2010 at 3:52 PM ^
The match was at Akron. Akron hasn't lost at home in something like 40 straight matches and Michigan has won 9 in a row since that loss.
December 4th, 2010 at 4:00 PM ^
We are undefeated since that akron loss.
EDIT: bah, beat me to it.
December 4th, 2010 at 3:49 PM ^
btw there is a player named FABIO on the soccer team..
December 4th, 2010 at 3:55 PM ^

Go Blue!

In NCAA tournament play you are only suspended for accumluation of yellow cards on the 8th card. After that each additional three cards is another suspension.
"Postseason Games. Caution accumulation will carry over into postseason play, which includes conference tournaments and the NCAA tournament. Players or coaches participating in postseason play will receieve a one-game suspension when a toal of eight cautions have been accumulated."
per NCAA rule 12.11.2 here (caution PDF) http://www.ncaapublications.com/productdownloads/SO11.pdf

Sweet. Gonna ditch work on Friday and drive down from the bay area to Santa Barbara. Will be even better if Cal plays Michigan, my partner is a U of M alumna in grad school at Cal. Go Blue.
December 4th, 2010 at 4:12 PM ^
Damn, I thought this game was tomorrow. Anyone know where I could find some highlights? I tried the NCAA website and there weren't any posted yet.
December 4th, 2010 at 4:13 PM ^
I could not be prouder. No, I am so proud. I am so proud. LISTEN TO ME, LISTEN TO ME. I am so proud to be a fan of this soccer team.
