Because, you know. . . .priorities

Interesting its UNSAFE to keep the students there but not the football players...LOL you sure can tell its a SEC school

Meanwhile...B10 players are sitting at the bar drinking a cold one, wishing they could play.

They'll live.

You sure about that? Drinking at bars seems to be where our covid spreading events occur as to the Michigan Football team bubble where it was eliminated.

The student-athletes are not in true quarantine bubbles... which is why this is an issue.
In regards to them catching covid elsewhere (as in bars), that is not the liability of the university.

If there was a war on domestic soil they would still be playing. This thread has been awesome.

The city of Portland says, "Hi!"

The SEC, where it really does mean more. So much, in fact, that we'll potentially kill the damn football team if it means we beat the fucking Tide.

To WesternWolverine 1996: If I was at your house, to watch a Michigan game, prior to an approaching hurricane. I would hold the ladder, so you could go up and adjust the dish, to improve reception. It's all about priorities and keeping your focus.

Ummm....I’m pretty certain they have an indoor facility to practice in, so this is really nothing.

I admire the SEC's obsession with football dominance and despise the conference at the same time. Its quite the conundrum.
August 24th, 2020 at 8:59 AM ^
That's why they're defending national champs!

That LSU bubble must work for all natural disasters.
August 24th, 2020 at 10:53 AM ^
Well, at least they have their priorities straight. /s

The Marco storm is breaking apart at this time. The heavy rain threat will not impact Baton Rouge. The Laura storm will have more of an impact later this week to Baton Rouge. The forward speed will minimize the heavy rain and wind impact after landfall.

Some rain bands will impact Baton Rouge with Laura. Other than that, no big deal.

I live in the area. Not all hurricanes are Katrina. With some you evacuate, with some you shelter in place. Some fragment and fall apart. Some shift and miss you all together. Marco is ending up to be no big deal. But, emptying out an entire campus is difficult last minute. The decision to close schools in the area was made Saturday. This morning ever body realizes this storm is going to be no big deal. This is not a tornado where ma grabs the chickens and heads to the cellar. Marco is going to pitter out and barely be a tropical storm by the time it makes landfall. It is the equivalent of cancelling practice today because a thunderstorm is hitting late afternoon.
