Looking for some advice on Michigan basketball tickets -- best seats?

Submitted by Wendyk5 on November 12th, 2023 at 3:48 PM

We're thinking about going to the Michigan Indiana game on Dec. 5th. I checked out Seatgeek but it's been so long since I've been to a game (1986) that I have no idea which sections I should be looking at (probably don't want to sit right in the middle of the students, or maybe we do). Any advice would be appreciated. Apparently it's Ugly Sweater Day so we'll try to oblige.

You can't sit right in the middle of the students unless you purchase a ticket from a student.  Most of the seats in the lower bowl are good.  Most of the seats in the upper bowl are okay.  The view from the first row or two on the side across from the students can be obstructed by the floor seats.  Other than that it is the obvious - closer to center court is better than behind the basket.  Lower row is better than higher.

We sit in section 110, which is in the corner.  Not the greatest seats, but it's just outside the highest seat license area...and we sit near people we know...and we aren't able to get to that many games...so would rather pay less.

One nice thing about our section is that it's just above the tunnel where the Michigan players go in and out...and there are also recruits and "VIP's" who sit toward the lower part of the section (if/when there are some in attendance).  If you're bringing young kids, they might like being just above the tunnel and seeing the players up close.

If I were going to attend one game, I'd recommend sections 104-106, about 15 rows up.

I’ll second ‘89’s opinion. I started out ushering in his section 108/110 (w/ Herb) , moved to 101, then court-side, now 105 and they’re all good and yes rows 12-20 would be my preference, close enough, but high enough to see the whole court. Above the Maize Rage would give you the same perspective - secs. 120-126. Stop by 105 and say hello! Go Blue!

I attend just about every home Michigan basketball game.   For the exercise I walk up to the last row before going down into my lower bowl seat.   The view from the last row at Crisler isn't all that bad.  Upper row seats at NBA venues are way worse.   Hence, I think wherever you sit in Crisler you will have a decent seat.   Obviously the lower bowl seats are better but don't shy away from sitting in the upper bowl depending on ticket prices.   I don't think there are any seats to necessarily avoid.   There are no obstructed seats unless you are really low in section 114 (IIRC, the section directly behind the south basket), the other basket doesn't have low seats as the original tunnel is there.
