Looking forward to an inspiring victory!

I know the spirits of the Michigan Football family are down right now. I know many in the family, and many more outside of it, want to see Coach Harbaugh removed from the job.

I'm not of that view. Yes, the loss to Sparty was shocking, embarrassing, and demoralizing. But, with 2020 being the year that it is, and with the team being so young, I'm willing to let this season, and 2021, play out before deciding on replacing Coach Harbaugh.

So, let's relax, and try to find some enjoyment during a time in the world that's overwrought difficulty. Let's have an inspiring win in Indiana, and get our minds off of pandemics, death, illness, and political unrest for a few hours.

It’s somewhat criminal to start a guy that needs to be replaced, and alienate a superior athlete with big time football credentials who transfers without having to because no penalty this year, and then play a freshman backup because that’s the only thing left. Should. Never. Happen.

And it’s rare that the people that win the job in preseason and practice are worse than the guys who couldn’t win the job and start. So I hope your info on defensive replacements is incorrect

Become a joke? OK, think about RR, and Hoke, and you say we've become a joke. The jokes on you. People have been laughing at us since they started that coaching search when Carr retired. The laughter died down a little, but the jokes keep coming. Every time we lose, it's in dramatic fashion. Blowouts in bowl games. Blowouts in rivalry games. Blowouts in away games. Close wins against crappy opponents. I can't think of a season I haven't been disappointed at one, two, or 3 times.

I think you don’t understand the situation.

There is only one power 5 coach with less than two years remaining on his contract and it’s JH.

This means we can’t just let this year and next year play out.

Michigan has to either extend him or replace him this winter. You can’t have a lame duck coach or you can’t recruit.

Unfortunately I think you’re right. I like JH a lot but so many years later we’re not playing anywhere close to what we should expect. Not on offense and not on defense. We were best on both against top teams when Fisch was on O and (shudder) Mattison was on D.

Looking forward to watching that inspiring victory on replay!  Weather is too nice to roll the dice on sitting inside and possibly watching a repeat of last week’s debacle.

lol enjoy the game, I will be golfing. This will be the first time in a few decades I haven't watched live... I just don't have it in me to care anymore.

Love the optimism OP but unless we figured out this week how to make our corners faster OR Indiana copies our gameplan from last week and decides to run plays into the strength of our defense (whatever that might be) and not throw deep, we are in for a long, and unenjoyable, day.

Indiana ranked #13 Michigan ranked #23 road game...based on Harbaugh's 6-year track record of away games and the characteristics of how he *cough* prepares his teams *cough* I'm a subscriber to your post.

Predictions:  Lots of Michigan penalties, missed catches, IU air raid and spotting IU 7-14 in the first quarter, clock mismangement and our QB looking raw instead of one that has been "developed" for years. Our punter should get a lot of practice though so there's that.

I really don’t even care anymore. I’m so indifferent about the Michigan program. They’ve broken me and I won’t watch or give them any of my money anymore

I don't mind losing. I just want to see them play with abandon, not with the terror stick up their butt. It just feels like so long since I've seen Michigan rock out, just joyously f*cking PLAYING!

I'm pretty sure that's what happens every time the offense seizes up and forces runs into the line, ala Bo.  Need to slow down the other team?  Run into the line.  Need to protect a lead?  Run into the line.  Think you're better than the other guys?  Run into the line.  Worried about what might happen?  Run into the line.  Want to let the defense win?  Run into the line.

It's systemic - Michigan runs into the line whenever something looks different.  Been that way since Bo slogged up clouds of dust.  It's what Moeller did.  It's what Carr did.  It's what Hoke did.  It's what Harbaugh does.  It's what 'Michigan Men' do.

I don't think its a big stretch to say that, should be some degree of fate Gattis become HC, he would be excoriated for his first loss with a wide open game plan.  'Michigan men' would complain about it.  At this point, it's in the DNA.

Harbaugh still coaches like he is in the NFL. Yes NFL players make mistakes but not as many and are less prone to mental errors. I feel like the QBs under Harbaugh always play scared because they don’t want to make a mistake. This just doesn’t work in college. Yes you obviously want to limit mistakes but Harbaugh needs give these guys chances to make plays. This won’t happen if they are always playing scared. Unfortunately I don’t see Harbaugh being able to change.

Nah I'm good. First time since OSU 2017 I haven't planned on watching a UM game. Have fun watching Hoke 2.0 (with somehow less talent than even Hoke), not wasting my time on this clown show of a program.

10am start here in the Rockies. Love the early start. Gonna get caffeinated and split n’ stack two cords of firewood around watching the game.  Winter Storm warning for tonight/tomorrow!

At this point I would be surprised if Michigan wins.  Will Don Brown adjust, and even if he does, can our DB’s play zone well enough after 5 days of practice?  I can still see Metellus in the end zone against OSU all by himself to the left of the goal posts as a Buckeye WR catches a TD with no M player within 10 yards of him.

Let his contract expire in accordance with its terms, run a national search for a younger, hungrier head coach that connects with kids, and is both adaptable and understands how to leverage others’ knowledge and experience. See: Howard, Juwan
