Submitted by BornInAA on

Mods - you may want to lock this to prevent a lot of dumb comments.

A slander attack against Peppers is going viral and will all over the mainstream media tonight or tomorrow.

MOD EDIT - Yeah, we're locking this, I think, but I will leave this as a reminder that everyone is aware and no, we're not going to perpetuate unsubstantiated rumors here. - LSA

Just running with an anonymous letter about a college student, not to mention that it could be slander.

Glad to see journalistic integrity still remains in this day and age.

While generally true "famous" people aka public figures get less protection, I doubt the Michigan law would consider Peppers famous enough. Not a Michigan lawyer, but even if the law did consider him famous, the extra protection is basically he would have to prove she intended actual malice instead of negligence with the defamatory letter. This letter would likely qualify under both actual malice and negligence.

A male who is beginning to rise to fame is just now being accused of something horrible by a female? This has to be a first.

Why would you admit to not protecting yourself with someone who previosuly gave you chlamydia? Does this person go to Michigan and if so, how did they get in?

Relationship drama is the worst kind of drama and it must be even worse when it's to the point of distributing 5,000 flyers around campus and THEN becomes national news.  I somehow doubt the woman thought it would get this much publicity and am filing this under everyone does things when they're young that escalate WAY beyond where they meant them to.

Damn, can't even blame this on social media.  She posted flyers just like in the old days.

However, social media is the reason they know about it in Singapore and not just the Diag.
