I see lots of discussion of OSU on the Board. Premature. Take a moment and appreciate the total meltdown of the MSU program. I give Harbaugh great credit for making this happen. Enjoy it everyone. We can get to the whole OSU thing in a few weeks. Let’s stay on topic.

An unlikely upset by MSU won’t materially effect the trajectory of these two programs. An upset by MSU won’t change that or the fact that Harbaugh hasn’t been the catalyst for the change.

Lost two games in humiliating fashion? One loss was a fluke blocked punt yhe other during a real bad weather game (with a questionable offensive approach by Michigan). Both were close. Maybe our definitions of humiliating is different or maybe you've got a narrative you're trying to fill.

Harbaugh is 2-2 against Mork. MSU is going to shit, but I'm not sure how much of that is Harbaugh and how much is Mork being a fucking scummy asshole.

Dantonio's "bread and butter" recruiting has ALWAYS been Ohio, not Michigan. The fact that he is losing recruits to Cincinnati and Kentucky is a bigger factor in their talent drop-off than Harbaugh's recruiting in Michigan. That's why I don't want Luke Fickell at MSU.

I’m as excited as the next guy to take on the Fightin Fickells or whatever their next coach is but let’s get through this game first. Possibly morks last, certainly their last team with any significant talent on it for the next few years. Bury them and I’ll dance on Dantonios grave Saturday night.

Dave's FU is well deserved, but I believe the helping hand given to MSU well pre-dates him. The whole post-Lloyd coaching debacle gave Dantonio the leg up he needed.

Let's give Dantonio some credit here. His first decent season was 9-4 in 2008, which is not nearly enough time for Michigan's post-Lloyd problems to help him out. He certainly took advantage of it when it came, though.

I had forgotten that Dantonio had a run of five 11 win seasons in six years. That miserable douchebag could coach. Then everything got stale, the competition stepped up, the lawlessness could no longer be contained and Mark sailed into semi-retirement while still collecting a big paycheck.

It's tough to get young men to buy into the forever scrappy, chip on your shoulder, unappreciated under dog gimmick when multiple classes graduate with 40+ wins and you start seasons ranked in the top 15. And he cant fire any coaches less they open up some closet doors on the way out of East Lansing.
