Let's Argue About the Super Bowl Halftime Show
I thought the Super Bowl halftime show was very entertaining, as did the group of 45-55 year old suburbanites that were at our Super Bowl party. The teens and tweens who were there enjoyed it, too.
The reaction on social media, however, seems to be split.
I'm seeing younger people complaining about the acts all being old or "washed up."
Also seeing complaints from the type of people who think only classic rock bands should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
What say you?

Snoop and Martha were hosting the puppy bowl too, so Snoop is ok in my book.
The half time set was very Hollywood, and as someone said, it looked like the NFL was doing damage control for their racist actions.
I was more concerned/ bothered by the officiating in the second half. Made me feel the game was destined for the comeback win by the home team, who had the new stadium.

I was there and I was rooting for the Rams and I still think you may be right.

It was awesome, not the best ever that a lot of outlets are saying. But if fit LA.

I thought the show was pretty good. It was good to hear music from my younger years being relevant in today's world. But I never identified with hip/hop. To this day I prefer 60's rock and I don't think that will ever change. In fact, I saw the Beatles' Get Back rooftop concert IMAX movie on Saturday and it was unbelievably good. The large screen and crystal clear surround audio made you feel like you were sitting right there in front of the band. The video quality was also very good. Basically as high def as you could get for 1969.
People talk about "old school". Yeah, I happen to prefer REALLY old school.

Hard to believe Lose Yourself came out in 2002 (Family Affair 2001, California love 1999)... good show, would have been incredible 20 years ago.

Why didn't Anderson Paak, take the mic?
That was disappointing.
Snoop and Eminem were good.

Loved the halftime show. I recognized the talent, and I knew the songs -- except for Kendrick. As others have said, it was really hard to hear the vocals well.....

I remember this music being so controversial when I was a kid, especially Snoop and Dr. Dre. Hearing it last night left me feeling warm, comforting nostalgia.

Hip hop is not my thing. I would have rather seen the MMB perform like they did in Super Bowl VII but I suspect to other people that is not their thing. As I keep getting older I am not in the targeted demographic for a lot of things.

I dislike rap personally - but I never watch halftime shows anyway.
