Larkin Scores in Red Wings vs Sabres

The Wings led 3-1 (Raymond, Kane, Larkin) after one and, despite some tense moments in the 3rd as the Sabres pulled their goalie just before the 3min mark, and ~4 icings missing the empty net, the Wings held on to win by the same score.

The win gives us 84 pts, just above the line for now.

Hope Power is OK. He took a puck to the face and was down for several seconds (as play continued). A Wing was behind the net and tried to shoot the puck off the goalie's head, missed, and Power was in the path. He did get up and skate off, leaving a little blood on the ice.

Raymond makes the Red Wings multi-point games before age 23 list.

Yzerman put up a few of those as a yute.

Lucas Raymond (1-1—2) has factored on two of the @DetroitRedWings' three goals to record the 40th multi-point game of his career.

He is the Captain and led the way to the win!

But in the postgame interview, he should have made a comeback to Anson Carter, a 4 year Sparty, who made the crack that Wings goalie Alex Lyon, a Yale grad, was smart enough to got to MSU.  So many good jokes that Larkin could have responded with - but he let it pass.

Love D Larkin - but when an a-hole Sparty tees it up, you have to let rip, by God!

Go Wings - and Go Blue!!!

Born a few miles from where I was born, in a suburb of Detroit - check.

Attended UM -check

Is left-handed - check

I have at least these 3 things in common with Larkin.  Everything else?  Nah.  Larkin's got me beat by a country mile.

I think we can all easily admit that rooting for someone born in metro Detroit, attended UM, and then plays for the Wings is not only one hell of a coincidence, it's providence.

Is he left handed or is he a left hand stick? Generally your top hand on a stick should be your dominant hand. My son is left hand dominant and is a right hand stick.  Some old Canadian crumudgeon in Sault Ste Marie, ON told him that is the Canadian way when he was a Mite and still using a stick with no curve.
