Reminds of when Felix Hernandez lost a couple of years ago. He was lights out all year and had one bad outing in Toronto; his second to last start of the year, which lost him the Cy Young to Kluber.

still has a career ERA of 4.20. This was a career year for him and will not likely be a thing he can repeat consistently.

Talk to me when he has had more than 1 good season. Verlander has only had 2 seasons in his entire CAREER with an ERA over 4.20. Porcello's K/9 is not super high, and he had a sudden and likely unsustainable drop in his BABIP this season. Combine that with a career best BB/9 and you get his numbers for the year. I wouldn't bet any money on him repeating them next season honestly.
