The fact that he did not stay through tomorrow as planned does not sound good.
But "awesome" is good from a kid who just decommitted from his lifelong favorite.
Yeah, but every recruit generally gives good reviews after they visit.
Might take him a few days to assimilate the Blueness.
you'd expect him to talk over with his parents after the fact. Even if he was swept away and carries pictures of Michigan in his heart I'd expect him to make this decision very, very carefully. He should absolutely sleep on a decision like this after visiting.
Agreed, but when they give good reviews it's usually more like, "oh this was great and that was good", but "awesome" is a whole other level. Trust me, I'm a freshman, now sophomore at UM, I know these things. I'm a youngin.
What do you expect him to say? Off course he will say something like it was "good" or "awesome". I don't want to jump to any conclusions, but not staying til when he was scheduled to is not a good sign. First, Stanford and Washington changing their minds about visiting a few weeks ago, then Stanford changing his mind about visiting last week and now Kalis making a very short visit to Michigan.
he stayed in Ann Arbor last night.
Uh oh, Stanford and Washington and now Kalis making short or no visits means that Hoke has lost his recruiting mojo. This is a very bad sign, and shows conclusively that Hoke isn't up to the job that Brandon hired him to do. By far the best thing DB could do is to fire Hoke now to prevent any further bleeding of the recruiting class, and then hire Jon Gruden. That would be so awesome because then Brandon could make the mascot a huge Chucky doll in a winged helmet roaming the sidelines. Who wouldn't want to take a photo of their young kids next to Chucky!!
Everyone knows Urban Meyer is ready to coach Michigan.
from his job at the Home Depot. I already need a new offense. Pistol!
that he was actually planning on staying through tomorrow.
plans change for a LOT of reasons, and maybe he wasn't staying that long from the beginning. Tom has been steady in his assessment of "high interest" in Michigan. No reason to panic. I still think he goes blue eventually, based on his earlier comments.
If he replied, "it was awesome" it could mean that he saw everything he needed to for a decision. It wouldn't make sense to say it was awesome if he went home early because he was disappointed with the visit.
I thought the original plan was to come up tonight and do the visit Sat. So if he did then visit today instead, then there's no reason for him to stay longer.
I think you are correct, as far as that is how the travel plans were described. As far as why they changed or what it means, I don't think we plebians have too much of an idea. Just wait and see, I guess.
He came up a day early and it was kept on the down low for some reason. But he did spend last night and all day there. I think people are just reading too much into it.
Perhaps the reason was so that he could visit without the drama of all these boards, etc. and people questioning his every move, etc... Folks need patience....
through tomorrow doesn't sound like anything. It doesn't sound bad either.
What are you, a woman? Stop overanalyzing.
There's already been finger-pointing from other services, so if this from behind one of their paywalls, lets wait until Tom's update or else beaverfeaver crew might go Ape-Shit again
but it sure is pretty darn similar to what rivals is reporting...
Isn't he always?
That's why I like it best when he brings good news
Frost just changed his mind halfway through the AA week. He'd been a silent to Michigan for months.
"Just talkin' bout Tom."
And we can dig it . . .
He's a complicated man, and no one understands him but his readers . . .
Yeah, Kris Frost was a silent commit and would have gone to Michigan had RichRod won a few more/stayed on. Sean Parker was also a silent (and was actually in a photo of Michigan committs that Scout planed on using for their recruiting magazine). Wayne Morgan was a silent as everyone knows. Yada yada yada the point is that Tom can only report what the current situation is. Kids change their minds and it doesn't mean that someone was wrong.
It's awesome when the only example you can think of was an extremely twisted recruiting scenario in which a kid wanted to come to Michigan, but his coach was fired, so he committed to another school, but the school's recruiting class was full and might not be able to take him, so the door to U-M reopened a little bit, and then the other school determined that they had enough room left.
But Tom was wrong that one time. Hahaha. What a loser he is. Here, let me piss in his cereal.
Between you and Section 1, I can't decide which one is more of a sourpuss.
Tom's twitter post from earlier today was about Kalis (obviously not positive though).
care to elaborate? What TVH post are you talking about (buckle up?) and why do you think this IS about Kalis and IS NOT positive? Sounds to me based on TVH's latest tweet that he was expecting a commit tonight, but it's not happening quite yet. Hard to say if this was even Kalis-related as it could also have been Wilson (who was meeting with coaches today) or Wormley who seems to be a strong lean but is keeping everyone guessing about his timeline.
and the paysites thought that Kalis was going to commit tonight, but that it didn't end up happening.
The "not positive" meant "I'm not positive Tom was talking about Kalis, it just would fit in with what everyone else seemed to be hearing and thinking" rather than "the information is not good news."
I misread it too, but now it makes more sense.
Thanks for the clarification. I think we all need to take a deep breath and then crack open another beer or two before getting a good night's rest.
Nothing is certain, but I can't help but feel more good news is imminent given the camp this week and where we stand with some of the prospects. I met Hoke briefly at the DC event, and based on that encounter and everything else we've all seen and heard, I feel pretty good about him, his staff, and their ability to get kids excited about Michigan and help them understand how special this program is.
The timing would be right for Wilson or for Wormley, so who knows ?
But I am still stunned that "Ace" Williams of Chatsports could be wrong about tonight's three-way commitfest. What is there in the world that a person can count on these days ? ? ?
I think of TSIO the same way...
Very well stated.
crazy Russian pilots.
An Su-33, one of my favorites to fly online.
if he visits anywhere else it isn't more "awesome" than UM.
He's mutual friends with Erik Magnusen. I know this because I'm friends with Kalis and apparently he blindly accepts anyone who requests him. Probably a good sign...
anyone who friends him, than it's probably neither a good nor a bad sign that he's friends with Erik Magnuson...
easy on the logical thinking
nsfmf
Well, he blindly accepted me. But I just checked and he's also friends with Chris Wormley. The Magnuson and Wormley mutual friendships have to be a collectively good thing - not due to him being a facebook whore.
He blindly accepted you as a friend, but you think it has to be a good thing that he accepted friend requests from Chris Wormley and Erik Magnuson, two Michigan commits who are probably adding any big Michigan target as friends?
Edit: Blah, Wormley's obviously not a commit, but you know what I mean.
