I love Colson so this is great to see. There's a meme going around among Buckeyes fans and analysts that Michigan is a team of sixth-year seniors or whatever, while Ohio State is super young. While we do have a lot of veterans this year who will be missed, I would encourage Buckeyes fans who are looking to the future not to look up how many first or second-year guys were major contributors in this game

True freshmen who played a lot, contributed and excelled off the top of my head:

JJ, Andrel Anthony, Donovan Edwards, Colson, Rod Moore and probably others I'm forgetting.

RS Freshman or true sophomores:

Roman Wilson, Harrell, Nikhai-Green, a couple of the OL, Henning and I'm sure I'm forgetting quite a few more.

We're gonna be loaded on offense, we'll be deep at every position group, QB, RB, WR, TE and OL.

On defense, Hinton and Mazi should be back I would think. McGregor could be great and hopefully learned a ton watching Hutchinson, Nikhai-Green, Harrell, Moore, Morris, Julian W., others as well.

Will Johnson could contribute right away.

Defense will have valuable guys needing to be replaced but there is a lot of talent to work with.

Good list. Next years offense is going to be loaded for sure, and Corum and Edwards will be running behind more BEEF again next year. WR are a year deeper and smarter, Cade and JJ. Offense will be polished. Defense is replacing some guys, but at the beginning of this season we had much different expectations for the product we would see on the field, and, aside from Hutch (and maybe Dax and Ross), practically everyone else on the D made their name this season. Hutch and Ojabo are filthy, no denying it. But our defense continued to change shapes and players and continued to improve, regardless of who the next man up was.

Honestly, Mike McDonald is the coordinator of the year IMO. We may not have had the most amazing stat lines defensively, but he came in and turned the entire defense around, in his first year in college AND as a coordinator.

Also, Bednarik award: a participation trophy for people who aren’t Aidan Hutchinson

Colson was my favorite freshman before the season started. Both because of his backstory and HS highlights. I have hopes of him becoming an All American at least one more time.
